Craft: Technology & Development
We're looking for someone who can work well with developers and work collaboratively to produce great documentation that simplifies, explains, and empowers users of our in-house game engine.
This might include writing from scratch, facilitating the revision of documentation by developers, and overhauling out-of-date content.
You'll be an experienced technical writer, good at taking in and understanding technical concepts and procedures, identifying what the user needs to know.
You're able to disseminate knowledge in concise, accurate documentation and/or video tutorials that empower users to get the most out of our product.
Ideally, you're comfortable working with a variety of development and documentation tools and techniques.
Perhaps you will even bring some new ways of working to the team.

We are a group of approximately 40 skilled, knowledgeable, and passionate people.
We are cross-located in 3 beautiful cities (Malmö, Barcelona, and Stockholm).
The technology we produce is used across more than 14 different King games including Candy Crush Saga and delivers gaming experiences to nearly a quarter of a billion mobile game players every month.
Who are Fiction Factory A highly optimized game engine run-time capable of delivering high quality 2D and 3D mobile gaming experiences across a huge range of mobile devices.A content editing tool and environment that enables rapid design and development of mobile games.A content and build pipeline enabling efficient iteration of game teams and over-the-air delivery of content to mobile game players all around the world.What you'll be doing Write clear, concise, and consistent user-facing documentation and training materials for our internal game engine.Edit developer drafts and overhaul legacy content.Support and work closely with developers to collect, plan, and publish high-quality user-friendly documentation.Gather documentation describing processes and procedures for our developer-focused, internal tooling.Dig into source code for community and internally developed systems to collect technical details for documentation.Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and developers to learn about specific products or processes when required.Collaborate with a wide range of people, teams, and community members.Champion and advocate the importance of good documentation and user-facing content internally.Assist with newsletters, video tutorials, and community news sessions.What we're looking for High-level of written, spoken English, and proofreading skills.A great attitude towards collaboration and teamwork.Proven experience working as a technical writer.Experience using Jira to track projects and tasks.Knowledge or experience with bug tracking systems.Experience working with developer-focused platforms, C++ tools and services as well as source control tools (Git and GitHub) and various techniques.Proven ability to run multiple tasks, self-manage tasks, priorities, and set yourself a high standard of accuracy, proficiency, and precision.You can transform dry technical topics into engaging, informative, and interesting educational materials.Good to have Passion for games, technology, and/or writing.Experience using issue trackers such as Jira to track project tasks.Experience producing documentation using HTML/CSS, Markdown, or XML.Experience producing highly technical, user-focused content.Experience with Jenkins and Confluence.2-3 years of experience working as a developer or coding background.Previous technical writing experience for Developers, IT operations, and DevOps audiences.A good understanding of programming concepts, preferably with C++ and/or Python.About King King is the game developer behind the world-famous Candy Crush franchise, as well as mobile game hits including Farm Heroes, Bubble Witch, and Pet Rescue.
