Veeva Systems is seeking to hire a Data Governance Manager for OpenData, Veeva's best-in-class solution for Life Science's reference data. As a Data Governance Manager, you will be responsible for building, monitoring, and improving data governance of OpenData. You'll be responsible for bringing data knowledge, creating and enforcing standards, and making sure a continuous foundation of data excellence is experienced in each European country's database.
You will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team of Product Managers, Data Stewards, and Data Analysts to bring your vision to life. You will ensure that new governance features meet customer needs and are implemented with speed, focus, and impeccable Veeva quality standards. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a team of Life Sciences and technology A-players who are changing the way the industry thinks about data. This is a Work Anywhere role; however, you have to be based in Spain and be eligible for employment in the European Union, as Veeva does not sponsor an employment visa for this opportunity.
What You'll DoUnifying data governance vision across all European country databases by building data knowledge and defining business objectivesBuilding and enhancing the OpenData data dictionaryManaging country-specific data model requirements and ensuring that they satisfy global data governance standards - align across countries where neededDefining data management rules and business processes (flow charts)Defining/monitoring data life cycle and managing related metadataBased on the data life cycle, identify control points to ensure data integrity and continuityDefining the level of compliance of each metric of a specific data domainDefining/monitoring GDPR compliance processesParticipating with projects that involve any of the data flows and processes under governance to ensure compliance with data management rulesParticipating in the evangelization of the data vision to external teams and customersWorking with external partners and vendors that support OpenData's governance processesRequirements5+ years experience in a relevant data field (Data Governance, Data Management, Data Analytics)Basic understanding of data modeling, data profiling, data quality, and relational databasesBasic SQL skillsStrong written and verbal communication skills are required to guarantee that projects comply with Data Governance/Data Management rules and standardsCapable of mobilizing and convincing operational teams on data management improvement actionsStrong analytical skills and attention to detailHighly organized, structured way of working and focus on data excellence and complianceProficiency in Microsoft ExcelComfortable collaborating with large, remote teamsHighly motivated with a "can-do" attitudeFluent in EnglishBachelor's Degree in Product Management, Data Science, Business, Mathematics, Computer Science, or equivalent degree requiredNice to HaveExperience working in the pharmaceutical, medical, or any closely related fieldExposure to Salesforce CRMExposure to BI tools (Tableau, Power BI)Customer-facing experienceMaster's Degree in Product Management, Data Science, Business, Mathematics, Computer Science, or equivalent degree requiredPerks & BenefitsOpportunity to work in a diverse and international workspaceContribution to a pension fundLife insuranceAllocations for continuous learning & developmentHealth & wellness programsVeeva charitable giving programRemote Spain.
