We currently have a great opportunity for someone to join the Translation Team as a Spanish Translator based in Madrid, reporting to the Assistant Manager, Translation and Localization.
Responsibilities: Translate, localize, and transcreate basic to moderately complex: Marketing content including press releases, websites, client service and sales support documents, and financial reports.
Policy wordings and clauses.
Claims and legal correspondence.
Technical and engineering documents.
Produce high quality products within deadlines specified in company performance requirements.
Demonstrate expertise in translating marketing, legal, and insurance content.
Use and maintain corporate glossaries, terminology databases, style guides, and translation memories where applicable.
Provide local project coordination for localization projects.
Resolve questions from translators throughout the project life cycle.
Qualifications: University degree or equivalent.
Minimum 3 years of experience in the localization industry.
Native speaker of European Spanish and fluency in English.
Knowledge of Portuguese and/or French if possible.
Experience in editing/reviewing highly desirable.
Experience of working in a global environment.
Demonstrated proficiency in composition, grammar, and syntax of both English and Spanish.
Basic understanding of engineering and insurance concepts and terminology.
Proficiency with MS Office suite of tools.
Proficiency with translation software (CAT tools), especially Trados Studio.
Experience in terminology management desirable.
Experience in machine translation/post-editing if possible.
Skills: Strong attention to detail.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Problem-solving approach.
Able to work independently and to adapt to multiple tasks.
