The PositionRole Purpose (Summary of position) Roche is looking for a Principal User Researcher to join our User Experience team. This position will report to the Chapter Lead of User Experience Design & Validation and will work closely with user experience designers and product managers from initial concept and strategy through the execution of design using a wide variety of qualitative and quantitative methods. Design, plan and execute user research studies and analyze behavioral metrics to paint a complete picture of our users to drive design decisions and user experience priorities.
As part of the User Experience team, you will work with a creative group in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This position requires a proven track record of user research strategy and execution using a deep toolbox of methodologies to explore behavior, workflow and motivations of our users. You will be responsible Determine research strategy and design, plan and execute research studiesOperate cross-functionally, providing user research expertise and execution across productsDevelop appropriate research methodologies and test plans for projects, think of novel approaches that are the best fit for individual projects or areasConduct research using a wide variety of qualitative and quantitative methods to generate actionable insights across the product development lifecycle, including up front generative research to identify new opportunities, iterative concept evaluation and post-launch testingConduct internal cross-functional workshops using design-thinking methodologiesCollaborate with product on defining "success" from qualitative and quantitative perspectives to ensure research is focused and closely tied to business goalsDevelop a systematic way of collecting and sharing research with project teams. Present, communicate, and distill the insights you've gatheredInform product strategy and identify new opportunities based on user needsCommunicate and advocate for your findings in a way that will inspire people to actDrive and recommend proactive broad-based research programsWork closely with UX designers to make design recommendations based on research results and help drive those recommendations to realityWork closely with product teams to identify and prioritize research topicsWork with product managers, business owners, and engineering to understand user requirementsStay current with trends, best practices, and methodologies in areas of UX, user research and behavioral analyticsPresent to a variety of audiences from product teams to executive teamsCreate holistic summary dashboards at a regular cadence for sharing with management teamsExhibit a high-level of expertise in driving the data strategy across multiple listening channels (e.g., usage metrics, surveys, usability testing, etc)Accommodate ad hoc requests for metrics to feed into design decisionsRegularly provide design teams with information such as most / least used tools, most often searched terms, where the most time is spent, features engagement/conversion, funnel/pathway analysis, user demographic breakdown, number users, etc.Your profile 8+ years of experience in user researchDeeply skilled and experienced in user research activities across all methodologies including focus groups, ethnography/field research, concept validation, in-lab usability testing, remote usability testing, card sorting, testing on mobile devices, surveys, etc.Analytically minded and very strong in data analysis, knowledge of statistical analysis, experience creating metrics dashboardsHigh degree of creativity and problem solving from big picture to little details, you move nimbly between strategy and executionExcellent time-management and the ability to quickly prioritize tasks and work autonomouslyExcellent communication skills and the ability to clearly and effectively present work to all levels of management - negotiating and influencing to build consensusWorks effectively both independently and as a member of a cross-functional teamA positive attitude, open mind, and a desire to collaborate and learnEnjoys working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and you iterate quickly, incorporating feedbackExperience working in digital healthcare products preferredExperience working in an agile methodology environment preferredBachelor's degree in relevant fields such as Cognitive Psychology or Experimental Psychology. Advanced degree preferred.Locations You will be based in Sant Cugat, Spain. At the Company's discretion, an exception to the location requirement could be made under extraordinary circumstances.
As this position is a global role, international business travel will be required depending upon the business location of the successful candidate and ongoing business project activities.
