How you will create an impact This is a key leadership role in our EIL (Environmental Impairment Liability) Iberia team in which you will take ownership for achieving goals and outcomes. You will be tasked with managing colleagues and overseeing a range of programs and processes, in addition to handling complex underwriting. You will thrive by successfully balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders and making sound decisions using data, analysis, experience, judgement and a risk mind-set. People management is a key aspect of the role – you will promote a culture of collaboration, inclusivity and learning, while mentoring and developing colleagues through effective leadership. You will also play a key role in new business development, including attending broker events, and building new relationships across the market. The role will involve: Underwriting new and renewal business: Underwrite within agreed decision making standards, limitations, and underwriting authority. Developing and maintaining relationships with new and existing brokers. Assisting management with reporting. Working to carry out agreed EIL strategies. Develop strategies to grow EIL business. Meet individual underwriting expectations to help team achieving budgeted financial objectives. What you'll need to succeed Proven underwriting experience in EIL (Environmental Impairment Liability) and a successful record of selling products to clients. Deep technical expertise. Degree or Master in Environmental Sciences preferred. Engineering will be considered as well. Fluent Spanish and English skills (written & spoken). Proven people management skills and a record of developing more junior colleagues. Negotiation skills. The ability to analyze financial statements. Strong communication, networking and relationship building skills. Good organizational and time management skills.
