The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of general accounting, financial reporting, and tax compliance for our local operations in all the entities WTW has in Spain. This role requires a deep understanding of accounting principles in local and US GAAPs, tax regulations, and financial management practices. The General Accounting & Tax Manager will also manage a team of accounting professionals, ensuring effective team performance and development.Key Responsibilities:Oversee the day-to-day operations of the general accounting function, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, including the preparation of financial statements in accordance with local and US GAAPs and company policy.Ensure compliance with all tax regulations and manage the preparation and filing of taxes (corporate income tax, VAT, transfer pricing, etc.).Develop and implement a tax strategy including ways to minimize tax liability and alleviate or reduce tax burden.Research and interpret tax laws and regulations.Coordinate and manage audits, both internal and external, ensuring all financial records and reports are accurate and compliant.Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and controls to ensure the integrity of financial data.Provide leadership and guidance to the accounting team, including training, mentoring, and performance management.Supervise, mentor, and evaluate the performance of the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and provide financial insights.Monitor changes in accounting and tax regulations, assess their impact on the company and implement necessary changes.Prepare and present financial reports and analysis to senior management and stakeholders.Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial consultants.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting and tax management, preferably in a multinational environment.In-depth knowledge of local and US GAAPs and tax regulations.Proficient in English (mandatory).Proficient in MS-Excel and Database (mandatory).Proficiency in accounting software – Oracle is preferred.Preferred Skills:Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.Excellent leadership and team management abilities.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.High level of integrity and professionalism.#J-18808-Ljbffr
