We are building a brand-new business for Visa!
We are part of Visa's new payments flow group and we are creating a new global team to launch Visa Government Solutions.
As citizens, we are all aware of the important and increasing roles the government plays in our lives, something the recent pandemic has emphasized.
As far as Visa's strategy on capturing a share of new flows go, Government payments are a significant part of it, be it government making payments to suppliers or social payments in the form of disbursements or even accepting tax and council payments from citizens.
At the same time, Governments are leading the way in launching big innovations in payments (think CBDCs, open banking) and in dealing with the big challenges of our times (climate, sustainability).
We are looking to partner with governments around the world as they drive ambitious plans in a variety of areas both payments and otherwise.
As the new VGS team, we will be leading the company efforts in developing our strategy, leverage expertise in various groups around the company and develop comprehensive government solutions including Disbursements, SME Digitization, Government payments, Citizens paying governments, urban mobility, Tourism Insights or CBDCs.
We are also prioritizing markets for focus and enablement of specialized sales teams.

What we expect of you, day to day:
Visa is seeking an experienced payments professional to join the Visa Government Solutions team as a Senior Manager, this role will have the following responsibilities:
- Expanding and deepening our public sector sales strategy and delivery in the region, including developing a list of prioritized client and solution opportunities
- Establish and strengthen our relationship with key public sector stakeholders including federal, state, and local agencies
- Identify and engage potential partners in the form of issuers, program managers, processors and fintechs who will strengthen our government solution propositions
- Develop and execute sales strategies/account plans to increase sales volume and market share, expand product category visibility and exceed defined product and corporate objectives
- Identify local use cases and requirements for our solutions team to incorporate into our proposition roadmaps
- Work closely with internal stakeholders including the Government Engagement team to align on our government outreach strategy and targets, approach to educating decision makers and influencers on how Visa can support.
- Partner with our marketing and communication teams to position Visa as a leader in the payments industry and a resource for government agencies
- Provide ongoing support of RFP development/response and overseeing program performance
- Continuously review market landscape and recommend, develop, and implement new creative approaches to growing the Visa business
- Proactively identify and solve complex problems that impact Government sales management and direction of the business.
Qualifications
- A broad network in the public administration space for your region
- Robust understanding of how public sector sales and public agencies operate
- Experience with and understanding of how decisions are made by the public sector and government agencies, specifically public procurement
- Consultative sales experience, with the ability to educate a wide range of stakeholders on Visa's capabilities, clearly business oriented able to push business development and produce business cases
- Previous experience in managing.
