Candidate Profile • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience (asset performance monitoring and data analysis) in the PV industry.
• Proficiency in PVSyst and deep understanding of performance & losses in utility-scale PV systems.
• Competence in programming languages and tools for data analysis (e.g.
Python, Power BI...) is highly desirable.
• English min.
C1; Spanish min.
C1.
Both written and spoken.
• Strong analytical skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment with a flexible, innovative, and entrepreneurial mindset.
Activities Reporting to the Operation and Maintenance manager, the Performance & Data Analysis Engineer will be a member of the PV technical asset management ("TAM") team of TotalEnergies Renewables Ibérica ("TERIb").
He/she will be the reference person for all topics related to asset data collection, treatment and analysis; operating asset performance assessment and reporting; definition, evaluation, treatment and follow-up of asset signals and alarms associated with performances.
Key responsibilities: Monitor, calculate, and report key performance indicators (KPIs) for solar photovoltaic (PV) assets, (future) wind assets, (future) Battery Energy Storage Systems.
Calculate and analyze performance and losses in operating assets using real meteorological data.
Perform simulations to validate and compare real-world performance against modeled expectations.
Create reports on performance, losses, and variance analysis.
Conduct comprehensive data-driven performance analysis to identify opportunities for optimizing renewable energy asset operations.
Develop and implement procedures and protocols for early detection and resolution of technical issues.
Design and implement automated operational performance reports as well as alarm generation and treatment procedures.
Develop and refine VBA, Python, or similar scripts to streamline data preparation, analysis, and reporting.
Interact and collaborate with relevant departments of TotalEnergies in France and other geographies, contributing and implementing international homogenization strategies for asset performance assessment and analysis, and for internal reporting.
Context & Environment • Spain is a priority country for the "energy transition" strategy of TotalEnergies.
Its portfolio of operating solar projects, considering the ones already under construction, is expected to amount at 300 MWp in 2024 (including 10 MWp already operational) and 400 MWp in 2025; including wind and solar projects under development, the operating portfolio is expected to be 1200 MW in 2026 and 3000 MW in 2027.
• At the moment, TotalEnergies has no centralized infrastructure in place yet in Spain for real-time asset monitoring, and no structured protocols or tools for operational data collection and analysis.
The Performance and Data Analysis Engineer is expected to be a main contributor to define strategies and procedures for compilation and treatment of signals and data, to be applied in the future real-time operation command and control centre when implemented (expected 2025-26).
