Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies, all over the world.We are seeking a skilled Master Carpenter to play a pivotal role in our Facilities Inspection project at Subic Shipyard.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong work ethic, reliability, and a willingness to undertake diverse tasks essential to the project's success.
Beyond general carpentry, responsibilities may include measuring, drafting plans, material sourcing, estimating, and conducting site visits.This is a 3-month project at the Subic Shipyard and the monthly salary is Php18,000.00.Key ResponsibilitiesStructural Expertise: Install wooden structures such as roofing frames, rafters, partitions, joists, and stud work with precision and craftsmanship.Cabinet and Fixture Design: Design and install cabinets, shelving, fitted furniture, drywall, and insulation to meet project specifications.Fixtures and Fittings: Add fixtures and fittings, including door handles, locks, hinges, and closures, ensuring a high level of functionality and aesthetics.Material Selection: Select lumber based on size and strength, aligning with job requirements and customer preferences while considering budget constraints.Fastener Calculation: Calculate the appropriate number of fasteners required for each job, maintaining attention to detail in all carpentry work.Communication and Collaboration: Liaise effectively with clients, suppliers, and construction professionals, fostering positive relationships within the project team.Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints and designs to execute projects according to specifications provided by architects, construction professionals, and building code recommendations.Adaptability: Undertake any additional responsibilities associated with the Master Carpenter position as deemed appropriate for the successful completion of the project.Qualifications to be successful in the role:Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent.A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in the construction field.Familiarity with a wide range of manual and power tools and equipment commonly used in carpentry.Capable of lifting 50+ pounds to meet the physical demands of the role.
