Context And Mission The Machine Learning for Biomedical Research Unit, led by Dr. Davide Cirillo, is looking for a student to work on generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) models applied in real-life preclinical/clinical settings. The project involves exploration and analysis of complex biomedical data, data imputation, and synthesis covering innovative topics in life sciences.
The successful candidate will join a dynamic research group within the Life Sciences department, which integrates independent senior scientists that work on various aspects of computational biology, ranging from bioinformatics for genomics and proteomics to computational biochemistry and text mining.
Key Duties Complete a project using machine learning to address complex topics in computational biology.Participate in internal group meetings and other scientific discussions.Requirements EducationMaster student in Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, or any field related to AI and biomedicine.Degree in Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, or any field related to AI and biomedicine.Or higher vocational education (FPII).Essential Knowledge and Professional ExperienceKnowledge in Bioinformatics and computational biology.Additional Knowledge and Professional ExperienceFluency in spoken and written English.CompetencesGood communication and presentation skills.Ability to work both independently and within a team.Conditions The position will be located at BSC within the Life Sciences Department.We offer a part-time contract (17.21h/week), a good working environment, a highly stimulating environment with state-of-the-art infrastructure, flexible working hours, extensive training plan, restaurant tickets, private health insurance, and support for relocation procedures.Duration: linked to the educational agreement.Salary: we offer a competitive salary commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the candidate and according to the cost of living in Barcelona.Starting date: 01/02/2025.Applications procedure and process All applications must be made through the BSC website and contain:
