Context And Mission
The Department of Earth Sciences of BSC-CNS is one of the most active groups in air quality and atmospheric composition modeling in Europe. The candidate will work in the ESS group, developing climate and air quality services. We encourage applications from highly motivated physicists, engineers, and mathematicians with outstanding qualifications.
Key Duties
Analyze and evaluate model results against observations; create graphs and reports.
Develop CFD simulations of real locations in Barcelona.
Multidisciplinary research, working with scientists and IT developers.
Requirements
Education: Last year of graduation in Mechanical Engineering or related disciplines.
Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience:
Fluids dynamics.
Experience in statistical methods in R and/or Python.
Ability to work in a professional environment and within a multidisciplinary research team.
Additional Knowledge and Professional Experience:
Experience in model development and application in parallel computing environments will be valued.
Demonstrated verbal communication and technical presentation skills.
Fluency in English.
Competences:
Fluency in other European languages will also be valued.
Willing to travel.
Conditions
The position will be located at BSC within the Earth Sciences Department.
We offer a full-time contract (37.5h/week), a good working environment, and private health insurance.
Duration: Open-ended contract due to technical and scientific activities linked to the project.
Salary: competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Starting date: 16/09/2024.
