Introduction to the vacant position: We are seeking a motivated early-career research assistant to study the neuronal circuits of C. elegans using photoswitchable modulators of neuronal receptors.
The candidate must hold a Master's degree in one of the Biology related disciplines (Neuroscience, Molecular Biology, Cellular or Chemical Biology, etc.).
The successful candidate will receive training in molecular physiology of neuronal receptors, photoswitchable molecules handling, and neuronal circuits manipulations.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a model organism whose research led to 4 Nobel prizes.
The successful applicant will join the MINECO financed project DOPAMAP led by Dr. Galyna Maleeva that will be developed in collaboration between IBEC – The Institute of Bioengineering of Catalunya (Nanoprobes and Nanoswitches Research Group) and ICFO – The Institute of Photonic Sciences (Neurophotonics and Mechanical Systems Biology Research Group).
Both Institutes belong to the Barcelona Institute of Technology and are leading institutions in the field of biomedical research and photonics.
We provide an international, vibrant, and collaborative environment.
