Destinus is at the forefront of European aerospace and defense technologies, developing AI-driven autonomous flight systems and advanced turbine engines.
Our cutting-edge technologies deliver superior efficiency and performance, pushing the boundaries of supersonic and hypersonic flight.
We're pioneering the next wave of combat-proven defense innovations and breakthrough propulsion systems combining turbojet and ramjet technologies for future hypersonic vehicles with hydrogen propulsion. We are looking for a motivated UAV Flight-Testing and Production Intern to join our team and assist in developing and testing the Hornet Interceptor, a cutting-edge electric UAV in the 10kg class.
This internship offers hands-on experience supporting flight tests and production, providing a unique opportunity to work on an advanced UAV system designed for high performance.
The intern will gain valuable insights into operational and documentation processes and help facilitate the communication between engineering and production teams.
Tasks Flight Test Preparation: Assist in preparing the Hornet Interceptor for flight tests, ensuring all systems, including avionics and propulsion, are operational and thoroughly checked. Perform pre-flight inspections and verify all components are installed and functioning correctly. Collaborate with engineering and workshop teams to ensure hardware, software, and onboard systems are correctly configured for testing. Flight Testing Support: Participate in on-site testing of the Hornet Interceptor, assisting with the launch, monitoring, and recovery of the UAV. Provide real-time support during flight operations, troubleshooting any technical issues that may arise. Collect and record flight data for post-flight analysis, assisting in evaluating the performance of the UAV. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of each flight test, including test conditions, results, and any issues encountered. Contribute to technical reports and data analysis following flight tests, providing valuable insights for future improvements to the Hornet Interceptor. Engineering-Production Interface: Work closely with engineering and production teams to streamline communication and ensure feedback from testing is integrated into production processes. Assist in implementing design updates and modifications to the Hornet Interceptor based on flight test outcomes. Support efforts to optimize production workflows, ensuring consistency and high quality in the UAV build process. General Tasks: Assist in the management and organization of flight test equipment and supplies. Participate in team meetings, offering feedback on test procedures and the performance of the Hornet Interceptor. Provide additional support to the engineering or production teams as required. Requirements Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related technical field.
