Awarded by the Air Force Installation Contracting Center, our contract spans a five-year base period with three one-year options, reflecting our commitment to excellence and operational support.Job SummaryThe librarians help patrons with a variety of tasks including problem-solving, literacy, job skills, and technologies beyond knowledge about many topics, exceptional research skills, and good customer service.
Being familiar with the book and media inventories is important.
Throughout the year, events will be celebrated, and patrons will be part of many functions.
An activities report is created weekly, and monthly reports need to be submitted to the local Quality Control department.Roles and ResponsibilitiesPublicize and implement Air Force Library programs.Operate and maintain the Base Library in accordance with the latest AFIs, USAFE Instructions, Library Service Center Branch Library Guidebook, and standard American library service practices.Maintain inventory of books and other media formats to satisfy the educational, informational, cultural, and leisure needs of customers.Accomplish required reports to USAFE/A1KEL and/or U.S. Government representative using MS Office programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Prepare an annual Supplemental Library Annual Report (SLAR).Review and purge book collections.
Return worn books, forward excess books, CDs, and DVDs.Maintain USAFE Form 245, Application for Library Service.
Maintain internet computers/laptops for patron use.
Assist patrons with educational programs such as DANTES and CLEP.Provide informational brochures highlighting local day trips, trails, cultural activities, and performances in local areas.Distribute used magazines/paperback books to lodging, fitness center, community center, and flight line waiting area.Provide on-site support as directed.May work on any day of the week, including Saturdays and Sundays.Ability to work well with a diverse range of individuals, including clients, colleagues, and government officials.Basic QualificationsHigh school diploma/GED.Speak, read, write, and understand English Level III.Experience working with books and community programs.Preferred QualificationsSupervisory experience.Experience working with elementary school children.KBR BenefitsLocal (LN) personnel will receive benefits in accordance with the collective labor agreement (CLA) within the appropriate country location where they reside.
