Title : UABOS Spain: Assistant Fire Chief of Prevention _ Belong, Connect, Grow, with KBR!_ Program Summary KBR is at the forefront of sustaining the operational readiness of U.S. armed forces at Morón Air Base in Spain, as well as Incirlik Air Base, Izmir Air Station, Office of Defense Cooperation - Turkey, and the Ankara Support Facility in Turkey.
Our role is integral, ensuring these bases and facilities operate seamlessly, allowing deployed Air Force and government personnel to focus on their missions without disruptions.
Job Summary Roles and Responsibilities Provide recommendations to the Fire Chief based on thorough reviews.
Ensure timely identification, documentation, and mitigation of fire risks.
Develop and maintain fire prevention and code enforcement programs to educate the public on fire safety, life preservation, code compliance, and risk reduction.
Execute integrated fire prevention programs effectively.
Participate in pre-acceptance and acceptance testing for new construction or facility alterations.
Conduct facility plan reviews and implement corrective measures to ensure compliance with relevant building codes.
Interpret national building and life safety codes, along with reviewing engineering plans and specifications for new construction, major repairs, and renovations.
Recommend modifications and enhancements based on sound fire prevention engineering principles, in accordance with agency regulations, National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) building codes, and other applicable guidelines.
Utilize skills to identify and address fire hazards and deficiencies, conducting thorough facility inspections to ensure compliance and safety.
Basic Qualifications Must be a US Citizen High School Diploma or equivalent.
Secret Security Clearance or ability to obtain.
IAW DOD 6055.06 M. Certified Certification by the Department of Defense (DOD) Firefighter Certification System as Airport Firefighter (including Firefighter I, II), Fire Officer III, Fire Inspector III, Fire Instructor II, and HAZMAT Incident Commander.
10+ years of experience in fire protection 3+ years direct experience as a fire inspector.
Proficiency in Technical Services, including a strong understanding of the chemistry of fire and hands-on experience in inspecting and testing installed fire detection and suppression systems.
Preferred Qualifications Active Secret Security Clearance Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
