The Role Blue Throne is seeking a talented Investment Analyst to join our team and drive strategic decisions on app acquisitions and performance management.

What are we looking for?
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in investment analysis, valuation modeling, financial due diligence, and strategic financial planning within the mobile or B2C space.
This role requires a strategic thinker who can assess the potential and profitability of mobile apps, support acquisition decisions, analyze ongoing performance, and provide insightful recommendations for business growth.
Your Mission Investment Analysis: Conduct thorough financial and strategic analysis of potential app acquisitions, including evaluating revenue potential, growth opportunities, and competitive positioning.
Valuation Financial Modeling: Develop and maintain robust valuation and financial models from scratch, focusing on forecasting and financial planning to assess app worth, taking into account revenue sources like in-app purchases, ads, and subscriptions.
Financial Due Diligence Revenue Analysis: Execute due diligence on potential acquisitions, analyzing historical financials, operational metrics, and revenue drivers such as in-app purchases, in-app ads, and subscriptions to support business decisions.
Market Research Competitive Analysis: Perform market and competitive analysis to understand trends, risks, and growth opportunities within the mobile app industry.
Portfolio Performance Analysis: Monitor the performance of acquired apps, track KPIs post-acquisition, and analyze key financial and operational metrics, providing insights and recommendations to maximize return on investment.
Collaboration Business Partnership: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, finance, and growth teams, to gather relevant data for financial analysis and contribute to acquisition strategies.
Stakeholder Reporting: Prepare and present detailed investment and performance reports to senior management, including the Board, founders, CEO, COO, and CFO, ensuring they are well-informed on both potential and existing investments.
Your Expedition Toolkit Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or related field; CFA, CAIA, or CPA preferred.
Experience: 5-8 years of experience in investment analysis, financial planning, or valuation, ideally within B2C mobile, gaming, or tech industries.
Valuation Model-Building Skills: Proven experience building detailed financial and valuation models from the ground up, with a strong understanding of bottom-up financial modeling techniques.
Revenue Knowledge: Deep understanding of revenue sources and financial metrics for mobile apps, particularly in-app purchases, in-app ads, and subscriptions.
Strategic Insight: Ability to provide strategic insights that support business growth, operational efficiency, and data-driven decision-making.
Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and make strategic recommendations.
Communication Collaboration: Strong communication skills with a track record of working effectively with cross-functional teams and presenting complex data in a clear, concise manner.
Technical Proficiency: Proficient in financial software, advanced Excel skills, and familiarity with Notion or similar tools for tracking and reporting.

Second Meeting: Meet our COO Co-founder to discuss your background and experience (45 minutes).
Challenge: Demonstrate your abilities with a focus on data analysis and product execution (1 hour).
