Here at La Casita de Inglés, we believe that learning should be fun! We teach English to children through games, arts & crafts, singing and dancing, theatre, yoga and baking! Almost all of the planning is provided for you, with teachers only having to tailor some of the ideas provided to them related to the topic of the week (outer space, sports, science, food, mindfulness, music, nature, etc.) to their specific groups. We don't carry out exams or require teachers to fill out reports. Classes are small and interactive, with a maximum of 8 children per class in our after-school program (although this number can occasionally reach a maximum of 10 if students need to make up on any given week).
Tasks: Our after-school program runs from Mondays-Fridays 17:30-19:30 (15€/hour after tax) and 11:00-13:00 on Saturdays (20€/hour after tax). It is not necessary to work every day, although we prefer you work with us for a minimum of 2-3 permanent shifts per week. There is also the option to work in our many camps and workshops that run throughout the year, as well as great opportunity for growth within the company: managerial roles, using hobbies or talents you may have to organise workshops or even joining us at our central office. The hiring process includes a brief interview and two trial classes.
Requirements: What we're looking for: Fun, creative and enthusiastic teachers who love working with kids! Experience: A minimum of six months of professional experience teaching or working with children is required (experience in babysitting or nannying alone does not qualify). Qualifications: Candidates must be native English speakers. Non-native English speakers must demonstrate a certified native-level proficiency in English (C2 Cambridge Proficiency or equivalent) and meet all other requirements. *Note: You MUST have CURRENT, non-expired legal working status (student visa is also valid) to work in Spain to work with La Casita. We are also always hiring substitute teachers. As a sub, you can work in any of our Madrid locations, with a 4 shift monthly minimum. Then, when we have new permanent shifts become available, we pull from the sub pool first.
