As a Senior Manager in this role, you will lead the strategic alignment and governance of the Travel Distribution Unit's portfolio, ensuring our strategic objectives are effectively translated into action across all business domains (BDs). Your responsibilities will include driving and optimizing Lean Portfolio Management (LPM) processes, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and ensuring seamless alignment between portfolio execution and organizational goals.
In this role you will: Strategic Alignment:Ensure the strategy is cascaded from Travel Distribution Unit's Strategic Portfolio Reviews (SPRs) to train portfolio synchronization meetings, relating strategy into achievable objectives for each train/BD. This includes contributing to the agenda creation and objective setting, proactively participating and facilitating discussion among stakeholders in all strategic ceremonies and ensuring Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) are considered in discussions.
Escalation vehicle and performance reporting:Identify and collect any escalation point that requires to be raised at management level and ensure its covered and represented by the BO in one of the available forums. It is required that the TRD LPM manager gains a thorough understanding of the various business domains to manage discussions. Regularly report on performance objectives, using financial indicators, for all domains according to defined KPIs. Address risks and issues to the appropriate management levels. Collect and consolidate a Risk Registry across all business domains and ensure any strategic direction is cascaded into discussions.
SPR Coordination:Assist with the preparation and agenda creation for Travel Distribution Unit's Strategic Portfolio Reviews (SPRs) meetings, ensuring all relevant items are included. Build bottom-up the list of items to be presented at TRD SPR by coordinating and consolidating, sometimes arbitrating inputs from a wide group of stakeholders (LPM community from each business domain). These items may include product/market/partnership updates, request for decisions, PLC ceremonies, etc.
Governance:Refine and enhance the Lean Portfolio Management (LPM) governance process in coordination with the Product Excellence team, Lean-Agile Center of Excellence (LACE), and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) coaches. Recognize and plan for any LPM training requirements within the trains. Ensure adherence to the governance model, ensuring all business domains/trains adhere to the guidelines and best practices.
Training and Development:Recognize and plan for any Lean Portfolio Management (LPM) training requirements within the trains. Ensure continuous alignment with Amigos (key stakeholders) and Business Owners (BOs) for each business domain.
About the ideal candidate:Bachelor's degree in business administration, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred). Relevant certifications such as: SAFe Lean Portfolio Management (LPM) certification / PMP or PMI-ACP. Agile certifications like Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Certified SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) will be good to have. Relevant experience in portfolio management, program/project management, or enterprise-level strategic planning roles, preferably in Lean/Agile organizations. Proven track record of implementing Lean Portfolio Management (LPM) practices at scale, aligning strategy with execution, and driving value delivery in complex environments. Experience working in organizations leveraging Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) or similar methodologies. Hands-on experience leading cross-functional teams and value streams, with a focus on driving business outcomes. Deep knowledge of Agile Release Trains (ARTs), Lean funding models, and value stream management.
