Candidates must be able to handle a stressful and busy environment.
Responsibilities include examining patients upon their arrival, performing triage tasks to assess their condition, identifying injuries, signs and symptoms, and communicating assessments to the physician.
A travel ER nurse assists in patient treatment, explains prescription information to patients/families, and must be knowledgeable about facility and government policies related to patient treatment, transfer, and discharge.
Educating patients and their families about continued treatment at home is another essential task before discharge.
