Role responsibilitiesVehicle DismantlingComplete daily vehicle hoist inspectionAssist Dismantler to identify relevant parts to be extracted from various makes and models of vehiclesFollow standard operating proceduresDrain all fluids safely ensuring no spillage. Spillages must be cleaned up prior to moving to next taskTest and clean parts where requiredKeep parts for recycling and put in designated locations: batteries, tyres, catalytic converters, wiring etcRecycling of core stockRecord activity on dismantling sheets as requiredClean the dismantling area in preparation for the next vehicleMaintain tools as requiredVehicle dismantlers may perform the following tasks: Use hand and power tools to remove panels, bumper bars, steering wheels, seats and other reusable body partsAssist Dismantler to disassemble engines, transmission systems, electrical components, wheels, brakes and other parts which can then be placed into stock or soldClean, inspect, test and organise parts so that they are ready for resaleTag parts for inventory or shippingMove vehicle body parts using a forklift or craneComply with all Environmental Protection Authority and state regulations for gases and hazardous material disposalRemove single items for sales ordersTransport vehicles to a hoistStrap engines and transmissions on pallets for transport and keeping a clean and orderly work areaRead and/or complete relevant documentation, e.g., a dismantling report which itemises the parts to be removed, tagged and checkedOther tasks as requiredDoes this sound like you?
