Job Description: The Trade Finance Specialist plays a pivotal role in facilitating international trade transactions by ensuring the efficient processing and management of trade finance products.
This position requires a deep understanding of global trade practices, financial instruments, and compliance regulations.
Key Responsibilities: Process and manage a variety of trade finance transactions including letters of credit, documentary collections, and open account transactions.
Review financial statements of customers and analyze creditworthiness.
Prepare company internal financial statements and ensure all invoices are in order.
Ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.
Review and validate trade documentation, including invoices, bills of lading, and certificates of origin, to ensure compliance with international trade regulations.
Act as the primary point of contact for clients involved in trade finance.
Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, operations, and compliance, to ensure seamless execution of trade finance transactions.
Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, opportunities, and potential risks in global trade finance.
Provide insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
Regularly report on cash and facility usage, including review of bank costs, products, and contracts.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, International Business, or a related field.
(Master's degree or relevant certifications are a plus).
Minimum of 5 years of experience in trade finance operations and/or banking operations.
Accounting skills are mandatory.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess and mitigate risks.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Good understanding of the Commodity Trade Finance Business, including, but not limited to, Letters of Credit, Factoring, Trade Guarantees, Bonds, Collections, ARP, Supplier finance.
Fluent in English required; proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
