We are seeking a highly skilled and knowledgeable Global Trade Management Specialist to join our client team.
This role is pivotal in navigating the complex landscape of global trade, with responsibilities spanning across Trade Operations Compliance and Export Controls areas.
The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of laws and regulations related to customs and export controls globally, advising our business units and organization on best practices to reduce risks and/or costs while ensuring compliance.

Location: Rumst, Belgium Contract type: Full-time Contract of Employment Responsibilities: Trade Operations and Compliance: Maintain and expand knowledge of import/export laws and regulations within the assigned geography, ensuring compliance across all activities.
Provide technical expertise and evaluate processes to identify and implement opportunities to reduce risks and costs.
Advise the business on capturing new opportunities and meeting current needs in a compliant and cost-effective manner.
Resolve complex, non-routine problems as a point of escalation.
Review and present management reports on import/export activities and conduct necessary training.
Foster strong relationships with governmental organizations and brokers to ensure consistent compliance and documentation support.
Guide and direct team members, delegating work assignments based on skills and development needs.
Export Controls: Develop and maintain expertise in export control laws and regulations related to defense and dual-use products, including necessary registrations for compliance.
Communicate changes in laws and regulations, reviewing and preparing compliance documentation.
Oversee Export Control Number assignment and Restricted Party Screening programs, ensuring robust processes and compliance across all business units.
Act as a point of escalation for resolving complex problems related to export controls.
Develop strategies to reduce risks and costs, implementing process changes to seize opportunities.
Build and maintain strong relationships within the business to support compliance and documentation efforts.
Lead and contribute to trade-related projects to achieve regional and global objectives.
Qualifications: College, university, or equivalent degree, or equivalent experience, is required.
Licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations may be necessary.
Strong understanding of global import/export laws and regulations.
Proven ability to advise on compliance matters and implement cost-reduction strategies.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to handle complex issues.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to train and lead teams.
Ability to maintain and foster relationships with governmental organizations and business units.
Additional Responsibilities: Manage Trade operations activities in accordance with AEO and Bonded Warehouse licenses obligations.
Provide support to other sites in Europe on Trade matters.
Lead and contribute to projects with Trade implications to deliver on regional and global objectives.
