Center for the Governance of Change The Center for the Governance of Change (CGC) is an applied-research, foresight center based at IE University that studies the political, economic, and societal implications of emerging and frontier technologies and advances solutions to overcome its unwanted effects.
The CGC does so by producing pioneering impact-oriented research that cuts across disciplines and methodologies to unveil the complexity of emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, Blockchain, and Robotics, and explore its potential threats and contributions to society.
Moreover, the CGC also runs a number of executive programs on emerging tech for public institutions and companies interested in expanding their understanding of disruptive trends, and a series of outreach activities aimed at improving the general public's awareness and agency over the coming changes.
All this for one purpose: to help build a more prosperous and sustainable society for all.
Responsibilities: The position of Associate Director at the CGC includes both key strategic planning and delivery assignments as well as operational and business development responsibilities.
Your role as an Associate Director (temporary) will involve: Key action areas that support the development of research, training, and outreach of the Center in a political and strategic capacity, including: Assist and report to the CGC's Director Design and implement projects autonomously with minimum supervision (coordination of research programs, design of outreach initiatives, organization of events, selection of researchers and experts, etc.)
Research and publish on issues of key interest for the CGC Possibly appear in media on behalf of the CGC The position also includes the management of crucial business development and operational tasks encompassing: Draft research and training proposals and engage new partners to drive commercial growth and partnerships for the center Implement and monitor CGC's day-to-day activities (events, publications, communications, etc.)
Coordinate staff from different IE departments that provide services to the CGC (communications, marketing, etc.)
and manage relationships/agreements with external partners/vendors Review financial information and adjust operational budgets Qualifications: To thrive in this role, you should have: Enthusiasm to become part of the IE community.
Strong interest in innovation and technology as a driver of change Experience in the policy realm, notably in the spaces of innovation and technology Proven track record working with clients and partners Executive skills encompassing strong numerical, analytical, and operational abilities Outstanding writing abilities Excellent organizational skills, especially prioritization and proactivity Entrepreneurial spirit and communication abilities Digital skills: Social media (Twitter and Linkedin), Web (Wordpress/Thesaurus), Data Visualization (Tableau, Python), etc.
Proficient English, fluent Spanish Bachelor's degree 5 years of project management experience or similar relevant experience It's time to bring your best and make your mark.
