POSITION DESCRIPTION: CIC energiGUNE is seeking an experienced technologist in the field of sustainable energy generation (from waste and biomass, e.g.), by thermochemical and thermocatalytic means, to lead the research line of Thermoconversion Routes for Sustainable Fuels in the Thermal Energy Storage and Conversion area (TESC).
The selected technologist will be a reference person in the TESC area to mark the path towards the technologies addressed. The person will contribute to define and guide the strategy to bring the investigation carried out in the research line towards real applications.
The work will be done in close collaboration/coordination with the Scientific Director (SD), Technology Coordinator (TC), and the Group Leaders (GLs) involved in the research line (Thermocatalysis and Ionic Liquids and Solid-State Chemical Reactions) towards excellence and technology transfer.
Responsibilities: Define the main strategy of the research line in collaboration with the SD, TC, and GLs involved in the research line following the strategic plan defined by CIC energiGUNE.Clearly define the annual targets of the research line.Prepare the annual budget of the research line to ensure the fulfilment of the defined targets.Carry out a continuous monitoring and support of the research line activities.Have fluent communication/discussion with the GLs/SD/TC to generate new ideas and concepts beyond the state-of-the-art towards the development of disruptive technologies and/or improvement of existing ones in the field of sustainable fuels generation.Be continuously updated on the developments of existing and emerging technologies related to his/her research line, follow-up of annual planification.Report the possible derivations of the defined plan to the TESC management committee and take actions for the mitigation.Look for funds, both public (regional, national, and international) and private together with the GLs to support the activities of the research line.Participate in dissemination activities: peer-review articles, technical conferences, congresses, informative articles, etc.Area: Thermal energy storage
