Job Description Therapeutic Specialist Gilead Sciences Inc. is a research-based biopharmaceutical company that discovers, develops, and commercializes innovative medicines in areas of unmet medical need. In this role, you will be one of the key contributors in our new oncology franchise, providing patients and healthcare professionals access to this innovative treatment. The focus will be on oncology physicians who treat patients with mTNBC. Our Therapeutic Specialists across all our existing therapy areas are enthusiastic about our patient-centric approach and are experts in discussing and explaining the characteristics and benefits of our treatment(s) in a highly scientific and dynamic healthcare environment.
Specific Responsibilities Prepare business plans and account plans for your territory aligned to local cancer alliance national brand plan priorities for mTNBC, and communicate required actions to achieve goals.Identify and map out patient referral journey pathways within the cancer alliances in your territory and facilitate patient access to treatment.Achieve sales targets in assigned territory.Work in partnership with Regional Market Access and Medical colleagues to ensure local access is in place for Gilead medicines.Establish and develop business relationships with key customers, accounts, and relevant key opinion leaders. Set and achieve customer contact plans and deliver on related KPIs.Manage territory budgets for customer contacts, speaker events, and other miscellaneous external expenditures.Represent the company at professional events and promote company products at such events.Work cooperatively with Gilead Medical Scientists, National Account Managers, Marketing, and Market Access on various cross-functional projects.Assist in the identification and resolution of issues and opportunities, and communicate proactively to Marketing and Sales management.Complete necessary administrative tasks in a timely manner (e.g., updating customer database, expenses, etc.).Achieve the competency levels required in the role.Comply with country regulations and code of conduct at all times.Travel may be required, and depending on location, overnight stays may be necessary.Knowledge, Experience, and Skills The ideal candidate will have a passion for commercializing this breakthrough medicine, a strong competitive and commercial mindset, robust scientific acumen, and a patient & customer-centric approach.Prior experience with solid tumors (mandatory) and especially in the therapeutic field of breast cancer (preferred).A scientific degree in Sciences, Pharma, or similar is required.The ideal candidate has established contacts with relevant customers.Excellent understanding of relevant targeted therapies and personalized medicines based on different biomarkers is critical.Sound scientific expert knowledge and ability to stay on top of all relevant new emerging data.Ability to understand and digest original publications and talks.Thorough understanding of how cancer services are delivered.Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and build working relationships internally and externally.Ability to develop strong relationships with key opinion leaders and communicate effectively.Proven expertise in building interpersonal relationships, along with influencing and negotiating skills.Proven experience in account planning and cross-functional account management approach.Self-motivated and able to work with a general level of autonomy and independence.Familiarity with industry trends and ability to remain current with competitors' resources and practices.Solid analytical skills, able to identify and understand moderate to complex issues, problems, and interpret information to provide appropriate recommendations.Ability to work in cross-functional teams.Spanish native speaker with fluent English skills (written and spoken).Previous experience in Marketing and implementing Scientific Projects will be an asset.Availability to travel is required.Desired Behaviors Resilient and able to handle emotional stress.Strong commercial acumen with the ability to deliver in a very competitive environment.Operational excellence.Analytical with a systematic approach to prioritization.Strong team player with a cross-functional approach.Curious, with learning agility.Strategic approach.Communications impact and influence.Customer relationship building.Customer and market insights.Business analytics.Results-oriented.Gilead Core Values Integrity (doing what's right)Teamwork (working together)Accountability (taking personal responsibility)Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO)It is the policy of Gilead Sciences, Inc. and its subsidiaries and affiliates (collectively "Gilead" or the "Company") to recruit, select, and employ the most qualified persons available for positions throughout the Company.
