We promote Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, fostering an environment where each and every one of us is appreciated for who we are, regardless of our differences.Context And Mission: The Life Sciences Department is composed of 6 research groups and 7 technical units covering the main areas of Computational Biology and bioinformatics, including genome analysis and annotation, structural bioinformatics, network biology, and text mining. The mission of this role is to assist the Group Leaders and staff and facilitate the logistic issues of the researchers. The selected candidate will work within the Life Sciences Department and coordinate with the central administration department.Key Duties:Coordination and interaction with other functional units of the Center and administration to ensure effective communication.Support and follow-up of recruitment and onboarding processes.Agenda management of the Language Technologies unit.Establish new procedures and improve those in place for the smooth administrative running of the Life Sciences department.Oversee daily office tasks and organise the Language Technologies unit team leaders travels and events.Coordination with other units at BSC to organise technical dissemination and user-engagement activities in the Language Technologies unit.Support with follow-up of public tenders and agreements, in coordination with other units at BSC.Requirements:Education: Degree level or equivalent professional experience. Linguistics sectors are a plus. Or, Higher Vocational Training (FPII).Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience:Minimum 2 to 5 years experience in a similar position.Knowledge of IT tools: Office Suite, SAP.Additional Knowledge and Professional Experience:Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish. Catalan will be a plus.Familiar with academic environments and their specific needs in terms of administrative support.Competences:Proactive, self-motivated individuals.Ability to take the initiative, prioritise tasks and work under set deadlines.Ability to work both independently and within a team.High level of responsibility and discretion.Ability to organise and coordinate tasks.
