We look for candidates who have expertise in areas such as optimization techniques, stochastic modeling, supply chain management, decision analysis, and mathematical programming. The successful candidate will contribute to both research and teaching, exploring innovative solutions to complex real-world problems in areas like logistics, manufacturing, finance, and healthcare.We value candidates with the capacity to collaborate in applied research projects led by the Impact Xcelerator at IE School of Science and Technology, specifically in one of the three focus areas: Climate/Energy, Healthcare, or Financial Systems. The ability to contribute to multidisciplinary research initiatives that apply cutting-edge technologies to real-world challenges in these sectors will be key to the role's success, providing opportunities to work closely with industry partners and stakeholders to drive innovative solutions .Key Responsibilities:Develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Operations Research, including topics such as Optimization, Stochastic Processes, Game Theory, Supply Chain Analytics, Decision Analysis, and Simulation.Lead high-quality, innovative research projects in areas such as combinatorial optimization, queueing theory, inventory management, network optimization, or financial engineering, while actively securing competitive research funds.Supervise and mentor undergraduate, graduate, and Ph.D. students, guiding their academic and professional development.Collaborate with other departments and industry partners to apply operations research methodologies to address real-world challenges in various sectors related to the Impact Xcelerator Labs.Lead interdisciplinary research initiatives and contribute to advancing the field of data-driven decision-making and operational efficiency.Participate in curriculum development, incorporating experiential learning and industry-driven case studies.Contribute to the academic service of the School of Science and Technology, helping to enhance its visibility and impact in the field of operations research.Required Qualifications:A Ph.D. in Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field.Demonstrated research excellence in optimization, stochastic modeling, simulation, or quantitative decision-making.A strong publication record in top-tier journals and conferences in operations research and related fields
