Job Description We are seeking a General Ledger Accountant for a temporary cover of 5 months.
In this role, you will ensure the timely completion of the month-end close, maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, prepare financial statements, post journal entries, conduct variance analysis, and assist with tax filings, while collaborating with other finance teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.
Role and Responsibilities: General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
Ensure accurate recording of all financial transactions.
Perform month-end and year-end closing processes.
Ensure that the month-end close is completed within the deadlines set by the Group each month.
Prepare monthly management reports, ensuring clarity and precision.
Journal Entries: Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, payroll, and necessary adjustments.
Ensure all entries are accurate and supported by proper documentation.
Variance Analysis: Conduct variance analysis to explain discrepancies between actuals and previous monthly figures.
Tax and Compliance: Assist in preparing tax filings, VAT returns, and other regulatory documentation.
Collaboration and Support: Collaborate with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and other finance teams to ensure seamless financial operations.
Qualifications About You: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
A minimum of 3-4 years of experience in a GL accountant role, ideally within the industrial sector (preferred but not essential).
Proficiency in local GAAP and in IFRS accounting standards.
Strong analytical, math and problem-solving skills.
High attention to detail, with a commitment to accuracy and efficiency.
Excellent computer skills, particularly in Excel, with an IT and process-oriented mindset.
A collaborative team player, able to build strong working relationships across departments.
Fluent in English and Spanish; additional languages are a plus.
