You'll work alongside young and proactive teammates.You'll design, implement and support highly available network architectures, either as a stand alone telecoms solution, or as part of a combined 'System Tramways' architecture (Signalling, ticketing, Data Center, OCC, Network, Telecom). Day-to-day, you'll work closely with teams across the business ( assist the Principal Telecoms Engineer, Renewals Design Engineer and support the Infrastructure Manager), assisting and advising the business by developing guidelines on the usage of complex systems and their components.You'll specifically take care of liaising with Telecoms Technicians and Design, Install and Test staff, and additional collaboration with Signaling Design, Installation and Project Engineering Management is fundamental to the efficient operation of the Telecoms function. You will also organize and manage Cybersecurity activities during Project (contract execution) or Program (internal development), understanding of operation system tramway and how these integrate with the Network Rail transmission network.You will work as part of a team and individually where required and is expected to be willing and able to work on any Telecoms element on any project as may be aplicable.We'll look to you for:Technical expert responsible for designing and maintenance infrastructure networksManage interface between Alstom products and external networksSupport the tendering processManage, design, install, and test hardware and software in support of Alstom productsAssist in developing networking solutions for new integrations from renewalsUndertake site surveys.Effectively maintain supplier relationships.Good knowledge and awareness of EHS regulations.Identify variations/changes to contract and asses impact on cost, programme and workload.Checking / Verification of designs including non-telecoms discipline designs.Assist in the production / checking of test plans and testing specifications.Attendance at meetings with clients, senior management, sub-contractors and internal project team.To ensure delegated areas of the contract are completed to meet legislation and relevant standards.Effectively communicate contract requirements to staff and sub-contractors.Motivate staff and sub-contractors.Review all relevant documentation.Assist when required, during installation, testing and commissioning phases of a project.Understanding of appropriate legislationSignificant experience in managing network architectures and deploymentAdvanced level knowledge of routing and switchingKnowledge of working with firewalling technologiesConfident communication and customer liaison skillsIT Literate, competent in the use of Microsoft Office ToolsSelf-reliant but also able to work in a teamOrganisational skillsTroubleshooting and fault-finding skillsAnalyze Project / Program security needs (including laws and local regulations), determine security objectives and main security risks strategyPlan security activities within development life cycle, estimate costs and duration, their impacts related to project program execution, Identify training needsIs responsible for Cost / Quality / Delay of Project/Program Cybersecurity deliverables, as needed per Project / program context : Cybersecurity context, and Cybersecurity Risk AnalysisCybersecurity Architecture definition and requirement allocationCascading of requirement to suppliers, Manage Third Parties Risks,Application of Cybersecurity Assurance LevelDefinition of Cybersecurity Operating ProceduresEvaluation of the Project/Program achieved Cybersecurity levelProvide support during technical design meetings for cybersecurity activitiesObtain agreement from Project/Program/Customer about on the set of security measures to be implementedManage vulnerabilities and Cybersecurity issues and actions plan,Manage Program / Project Cybersecurity related communication,Report on Program / Project Cybersecurity statusIn case of external Cybersecurity audit, manage the relationship with auditors Establish lessons learnedPromoting the Alstom Code of Ethics and adhering to the highest standards of ethical conduct.Report directly to : System Engineering ManagerNetwork & Links:Product ManagerCyber Security ManagerProject ManagerTelecoms TesterTelecoms TICOther Discipline engineersBid ManagerKPI's/measurementsWorkpackage Management/budget of allocated hours to tasksTimely production of reportsTimely production of project meeting minutes, install and test documentation as a priorityInput to production of and management of programmesDelivery of project activities against allocated hours as a prioritySupervision of staff and subcontractorsCompilation and updating of trackersDemonstrable activity prioritisationUndertaking all staff management duties including undertaking relevant Performance Management & People Review activities.
