Description:
UVic-UCC is a young and very dynamic university in Central Catalonia, with a special commitment to quality teaching, innovative research and internationalization.
The fields of action of the International Unit of the Faculty are the international representation of the center; the coordination together with the dean's office of the center's international strategy and international action plan in the academic, research and promotion areas of the Faculty; the management of international mobility and international academic programs (Study Abroads, Summer Schools, tailor-made programs, short stays abroad, COIL and BIP projects, etc.), in collaboration with department heads and degree coordination.
The selected candidate will carry out the management of administrative and academic tasks linked to the Faculty's International Unit, such as the management of the international mobility of teaching and administrative staff, as well as of students, the management of international projects and programs linked to the Faculty, and support in all international activity under the supervision of the Center's Academic Coordinator of International Relations (CARI).
Functions and duties:
Development and Maintenance of National and International Mobility Programs:
o Coordinate and administer student mobility programs, which may include semester or annual exchanges, internship programs abroad, and other international learning opportunities
o Establish collaborations with universities and educational institutions abroad for the exchange of teachers and administrative staff.
Student Selection and Support:
o Coordinate student participant selection processes, including review of applications, interviews and communication with selected candidates.
o Provide pre-department support and guidance to students on logistical, cultural and academic issues.
Administrative Management:
o Oversee administrative tasks related to mobility programs, such as document management, inter-agency agreements and budgets.
o Maintain accurate participant records, reports and other relevant documentation.
o Manage the Faculty's international training programs (exchange programs, Study Abroad programs, summer schools, tailor-made programs, short stays abroad, COIL and BIP projects, etc.) in their phase of preparation, development and evaluation.
o Manage and supervise academic documentation linked to student mobility and exchange.
o Support the teaching and administrative community of the center with the administrative procedures as well as the academic and logistical aspects linked to international mobility.
Communication and Promotion:
o Coordinate promotion campaigns and inform about mobility opportunities for students, teachers and university staff.
o Maintain regular communication with international partners for the promotion of mobility programs.
o Attend international fairs/congresses
o Promote, together with the degree coordinators and with the support of the department heads and the UVIC-UCC International Relations Area, international mobility among the center's community.
o Create and manage a digital 2.0 communication platform for the center's students, generating spaces and elements for dissemination and promotion of the center's international activities.
o Prepare reports and documentation related to the center's international activities.
Crisis Management and Support:
o Be prepared for the management of emergency situations or crises that may arise during the mobility period of the participants.
o Provide support and guidance to participants in emergency situations.
Evaluation and Continuous Improvement:
o Collect feedback from participants and other stakeholders to evaluate the effectiveness of mobility programs.
o Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to optimize the participants' experience.
Requirements
Spanish Decree on recognition of qualifications of teaching and research staff, and service staff
According to Spanish Royal Decree 889/2022, those who apply for teaching and research staff (PDI) or service staff (PAS) posts should have any qualifications issued abroad officially recognised in Spain, since such approval qualifies for the exercise of regulated professions in Spain. Research-only staff are exempt from this requirement.
Vocational training
higher degree level in the social sciences, humanities and related fields
Certification of Level C1 in Catalan or commitment to obtain it.
Acreditación del nivel de suficiencia C de inglés o estar en condiciones de obtenerlo.
Other requirements
Merits
Degree: Graduated in degrees in the fields of Social Sciences or Humanities.
Advanced mastery of the Office package (Word, Excel, Power Point).
Social media domain.
Previous experience in the field of international relations, student mobility, or similar administrative role within an academic institution.
Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and manage relationships with various agents.
Familiarity with higher education systems and policies related to the internationalization of higher education.
Knowledge of other foreign languages.
Willingness to travel occasionally for meetings or events related to international relations.
