Applications are invited by the UNIVERSITY OF ALICANTE PRESIDENT for a fixed-term contractual position as a technologist to collaborate on the project "Low dimensional materials with optical and electronic applications" of the University Institute for Materials Research. Reference I-PAS-25/24Project MFA/2022/045 funded by the Valencia Regional Department for Education, Universities and Employment (GV) and the European Union NextGenerationEU/ PRTR.Pursuant to the provisions of the regulations governing calls for applications of research staff to cover contractual positions assigned to research projects, the University of Alicante calls for applications to cover a job position in accordance with the following terms and conditions:First. Number of vacancies and features of the job vacancyNumber of job vacancies: two.Job position: technologist.Working hours: full commitment in morning/afternoon sessions.Remuneration: €1,361.01 gross/monthly plus two extra payments of the same amount as the monthly remuneration, or a proportional part for periods of less than one year.Estimated duration of the contract: 3 months.The duration of the contract will depend on the completion of the tasks assigned to this job within the project, the duration of the project and budgetary availability.Second. Purpose.The successful candidate will collaborate in the research project "Low dimensional materials with optical and electronic applications (MFA/2022/045)", carrying out the following tasks:Perform electronic structure calculations by ab initio methods using Quantum Espresso.Develop electronic structure calculation code based on tight-binding models.Post-processing analysis of band structure.Use and execution of HPC clusters.Any other tasks related to the job position that may arise from the execution of the project.Fourth.
