Technician Mindfulness for RESONATE projectThe Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal) is a cutting-edge institute addressing global public health challenges through research, translation into policy and education. ISGlobal has a broad portfolio in communicable and non-communicable diseases including environmental and climate determinants, and applies a multidisciplinary scientific approach ranging from the molecular to the population level. Research is organized in the following main areas: Malaria and other Infectious Diseases, Maternal, Child and Reproductive Health, Urban Health and Child and Environmental Health, Climate & Non-Communicable Diseases. What We Are Looking For: ISGlobal is seeking a highly motivated senior mindfulness technician for a part-time, temporary engagement in the EC funded RESONATE project ("Building individual and community RESilience thrOugh NATurE-based therapies"). The successful candidate will be exposed to a network of Europe's most prominent researchers in the field of associations between nature and human health. The candidate should have a genuine interest in the topic of Nature based Therapies (NbT) and have an interdisciplinary mindset.
Key Responsibilities: Participate in the co-creation of a mindful walking intervention in urban coastal settings.Deliver group-guided sessions of mindful walking in an urban coastal area in Barcelona and/or metropolitan area.Train junior technicians in delivering mindful walking sessions.Specific Duties: Lead the NbT intervention delivery, mindful walking, guiding a number of groups of 10-12 participants.Work closely with the case study coordinator.Assist contact with health care centres if needed.Attend meetings with case study research team.Training And Experience / Qualifications: Certified mindfulness and/or yoga teacher.Experience of at least 10 years in providing mindfulness, yoga sessions to varied profiles of people.Experience in designing sessions based on the pathological and biomechanical characteristics, seeking the integral balance of health and wellbeing.Experience in holistic practice that takes into account the person's psycho-emotional state and different life stages.Experience with people with chronic diseases, special needs, and other vulnerable populations.Specific Requirements: Ability to work independently and as a team member.Attention to detail.Excellent communication skills.Flexibility.Good level of Spanish and Catalan are required.Skills: Teamwork.Problem resolution.Excellent organisational skills.Excellent time management.Meticulous attention to detail.Good level of English will be an asset.The post holder will adhere to ISGlobal principles contained in People management policy, including Equity, diversity and health safety. Selection Process: The Selection Process Is Designed In Two Phases: 1- Interview phase of a technical nature, with the team that requires the incorporation. To assess the person's skills and CV. 2 - Meeting with HR with the finalist(s) to finish assessing the profile and discuss contractual and institutional issues. If needed, any technical test could be passed. A Psychological Competency Evaluation Test will be required for the structural or transversal positions.
In accordance with the OTM-R principles, a gender-balanced recruitment panel is formed for every vacancy at the beginning of the process.
