IE University's Business School is looking for a Media Lab Technician to join its team!
The IE Media Lab Technician is responsible for supporting the Media Lab by administering an instructional photography, video and audio production and post-production (editing & VFX) lab, coordinating the Lab's activities, and addressing logistic and academic needs in the Segovia Campus.
This role provides user support to students and, on occasion, faculty, maintains an inventory of video production equipment for student use within the Media Lab, and anticipates and budgets for future needs.
The Media Lab Technician will primarily support BCDM student activity but will also serve some of the audiovisual needs of Executive Masters Programs, in addition to content creation for the IEU Comms Lab in both campuses.
The Media Lab Technician is responsible for coordinating the Media Lab Studios and facilities (TV Studio, Photo Studio, editing rooms), maintaining an inventory of video and audio production equipment, and providing software and desktop user support to students within the Media Lab facilities at IE University Campus in Segovia.

Your role as a Media Lab Technician will involve:
Video Production, Equipment Circulation and Maintenance: Manage new and existing video and post-production equipment for student and faculty use.Provide Media Lab users with technical support and training necessary to accomplish academic and research-related tasks.Maintain and service cameras, tripods, lighting kits, audio gear, expendables, and other production accessories.Instruct students and faculty on how to properly use equipment and hold users responsible for the optimal conditions of borrowed materials.Maintain a check-in and check-out system/database for circulating production equipment.Facilitate student photography and video production work by providing guidance and expertise.Provide daily support to Media Lab users.In coordination with the Media Lab Director, provide pedagogical support to both students and faculty by creating and delivering labs/workshops on video production/graphic design and photography/lighting equipment in response to student and instructor needs. Media Lab Maintenance: Keep the camera and sound equipment batteries charged and SD cards empty.Check the camera status before class sessions held at the Media Lab studios and before and after borrowing equipment to students.Check computer hardware and software regularly; maintain data storage.Make sure all computers are properly powered, networked, and clean.Delete obsolete or inappropriate files, programs, and viruses on all computers.Update software and operating systems as needed.Ensure smooth operation of all non-teaching aspects of the Media Lab and alert staff and faculty to anticipated needs, such as equipment replacement and security issues.Maintain and administer the acquisition of licenses for all installed software.Keep a database of best student productions. Fluent English is a must.Passion for content creation, curiosity about the latest trends in the Media and Entertainment sectors, and a drive to be a mentor to young students and professionals.Ability and interest in working in a liberal-arts educational context with students and instructors who have a wide range of technical skill levels.Working knowledge of and ability to instruct students on DSLR/mirrorless camera operation for photography and video recording, audio recording, lighting for camera photography, video editing, and post-production basics.Working knowledge of 2D with Adobe After Effects and storyboarding is a plus.Experience as an instructor or teacher in workshops, seminars, or masterclasses is a plus.Strong creativity and problem-solving skills. Training and Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Media Production/Content Production.A Master's Degree in a related Audio-Visual field is a plus.2 years of experience in either an equivalent position at an Educational Institution or as a freelance or full-time Production Professional.Former IE Media Lab Users—alumni, adjunct faculty from either the BCDM or Master programs are also welcomed to apply.
