Summary
As a consequence of the closure of the Coverlink and DipTech plants in 2024, Vibrantz Performance Coatings aims to maintain and increase its sales in specific markets for digital printing inks.
To achieve this, a Center of Excellence for Inkjet Technology (CEIT) will be established in Almassora (Spain) starting September 2024, alongside the installation of an ink production factory.
This center of excellence will operate on a global scale and centralize:
R&D activities for all inkjet ink portfolios of Performance Coatings.
All necessary printing samples for validation, approval, and promotion of all ink sets of Performance Coatings.
Technical and design support teams specific to inkjet technology needed for our customers, our printer manufacturing partners, or the commercial teams of Performance Coatings.
Demonstration and training activities for new inkjet customers.
Mission
The Technical Support Manager for Digital Inks of Performance Coatings will lead a global team of 4 people and report to the Digital Technology Manager of Vibrantz Performance Coatings. He/She will be based at the CEIT in Almassora, Spain. His/Her main functions will be to organize the activity of his/her team at a global level to ensure the technical support required for inkjet printing in the Performance Coatings businesses of the Vibrantz group. The technical support needs will originate from various sources: customers, printer manufacturers, and commercial and R&D departments of Vibrantz that need to promote our digital inks by offering specialized services as added value.
The candidate will have proven experience in team management and extensive technical knowledge in the DOD PZT inkjet sector for inorganic inks on ceramic and/or glass substrates. He/She will need developed organizational and communication skills to perform his/her job and must be able to establish trustworthy interpersonal relationships with direct and indirect colleagues, our customers, and our partners, supporting and training them on the specifics of digital printing in our target markets.

Functions
Ensure the correct operation of the printing equipment in the demonstration and inkjet centers in Almassora, Spain. Establish usage and preventive maintenance standards with the users of these centers and respect the established operating budget.
Define, coordinate, and direct global tasks of the Technical Support department in all digital printing businesses of Performance Coatings. Respect the goals defined by the digital technology manager, set objectives and timelines for the department, and promote the performance and professional/competency growth of team members.
Coordinate the interactions of the Technical Support department with other working groups, especially R&D and Application and Design of Digital Inks. Ensure the scaling to commercialization of new products and intervene in all printer startups and installations for customers and/or partners.
Analyze and communicate extraordinary ink behaviors based on their industrial usage conditions to Technology, Key Accounts, and R&D managers. Propose, through reports at a higher level, options for application adjustments, possible changes in printers, or modifications in inks that reduce their technical risks.
Recommend, coordinate, and direct the use of our inks in machines from our printer manufacturing partners, respecting the confidentiality and commercialization frameworks agreed upon with them, and focusing efforts on the continuous improvement of complete Printer+Inks solutions.
Stay updated on technological advances in DOD PZT digital printing, both in terms of inks and machinery, through external networks (customers, suppliers, partners, other sectors). Evaluate, identify, and quantify the incorporation of improvements, training, and/or process solutions and present them at a higher level.
Encourage the autonomous work of our clients through continuous training of their specialists in digital printing technology.
Stay updated on the product offerings of our main competitors through external networks (customers, machinery partners, social networks, fairs). Evaluate and analyze our strengths and possible shortcomings regarding ink products and their usage and transformation modes. Present conclusions to strategy managers in digital printing and provide constant support to enable Vibrantz to maintain its position as a leader in innovation and technology.
Execute the technical follow-up of the certification strategic plans of our inks in the chosen printer manufacturers and heads supervised by Key Accounts Managers. Recommend, assign, and supervise both internal and external resources to meet the established objectives and deadlines.
