POSITION SUMMARY: The Technical Sales Rep manages customers based in Spain with the aim to achieve targeted sales objectives, profit and develop profitable business with new and existing customers. Performs sales and account management activities with an emphasis on profitable sales volume and customer growth. Strategically supports customers' business and requests providing proper solutions and technical assistance on products and product lines, as well as establishing solid relationships with SHW Management.
RESPONSIBILITIES ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Develops contacts and relationships with new and existing customers to sell products, introduce new or alternative product lines, and grow sales in alignment with the guidelines provided by the Sales Director. Handles the line trials at the customer sites across the region, ensuring that the product quality and service meet customer expectations. Supports with customer complaints and investigations of the specification misalignments and maintains contact with the Head of Laboratory on occurring technical issues. Provides support to product development activities (i.e. Color matching, new projects opportunity identification) in cooperation with the R&D Team. Researches, analyses and reports on industry trends and data that impact business' volume, margins, and market share. Manages the development of customers' understanding of technical needs, providing technical solutions and support, as well as developing business networking. Manages the execution of multiple sales and related business strategies by streamlining programs and coordinating activities. Collects, analyses and reports market data that can support decisions regarding specific opportunities. Applies a working understanding of product lines and applications to ensure Customer satisfaction. POSITION CHALLENGES: Effectively interface with the Sales Director, Labs, Operations & Supply Chain. Ensures customers' quality and expectations are consistently met; eliminates or reduces customers' complaints. Ensure regional sales targets and goals are achieved within the given timeline. QUALIFICATIONS POSITION REQUIREMENTS Formal Education: Required: High School Diploma, bachelor's degree or equivalent.
Preferred: Chemist, Engineering or Paint Technology university Degree.
Knowledge & Experience: Required: Previous Sales/Accounts Management experience, Paint or chemical experience. Preferred: Proven track record in generating opportunities and closing new business. Proven track record establishing robust pricing strategies that meet market needs and optimize product margins and profitability. Technical/Skill Requirements: Understanding technical principles and practices (lab, research, etc.), particularly on Coil Coatings and Extrusion. Ability to read and understand technical requirements of the products. Organizational skills to properly address/escalate issues and achieve results. Comfortable to operate within a multi-national, multi-cultural, matrix and fast-growing organization. Fluent in Spanish and proficient command of English.
