QUALIFICATION: Must be a Registered/Licensed Civil Engineer or Materials Engineer I; Must have five (5) years of work experience specializing in engineering - civil/construction/structural or equivalent.
Must have an engineering expertise, strong communication, leadership, interpersonal, computer, troubleshooting, and time management skills.
DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES: Identify and recommend suitable construction materials for tollway projects, ensuring they meet required specifications and standards.
Conduct material testing to verify quality and durability; Accurately estimate the quantity of materials needed for construction, maintenance, and repair activities, considering factors like project specifications, design plans, and cost constraints; Collaborate with project teams to prepare cost estimates for materials, considering market rates, transportation costs, and other relevant factors; Coordinate with suppliers to procure required materials, maintaining an inventory system, and ensuring timely availability of materials on-site; Implement quality control measures to ensure that materials used in tollway projects meet the required standards and specifications; Participate in on-site inspections to monitor the use of materials, assess workmanship, and verify compliance with project requirements; Maintain comprehensive records of material usage, quantity estimates, and cost data.
Generate reports on material-related aspects of tollway projects as required; Ensure that materials and workmanship are at all times in accordance with plans and specifications; Ensure that inspections and tests are carried out promptly and timely; Witness critical activities of the project; Assist in the project close out and performs other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
