Amazon is looking for exceptional, motivated software engineers to work in the Kindle Reader organization.
The Kindle Content Organization System Architecture (Library) team is looking for an inventive and technically skilled Software Development Engineer to join our diverse team at the forefront of delighting millions of readers around the world.
You will work with world-class engineers, business leaders, and other talented engineering teams while you design, architect, and code for Kindle Reader iOS, Android app and E-Reader software.
We build the next generation reading experience for Kindle customers.
Our team works backwards from customers by understanding their needs to design and implement solutions that deliver an immersive reading experience across a wide variety of devices, genres, and formats.
We are looking for full-stack seasoned Software Development Engineers who enjoy collaborating with diverse teammates and business experts to expand the capabilities of server and client software systems.

Ship and review C++, ReactNative, Java, Swift or Objective C code for Library features on Kindle Ereader, Kindle for Android, Kindle iOS or Fire OSCollaborate with peers, product owners, UX designers and partner tech teams on architecture and design of Library featuresAdapt the Library customer experience for the next generation of Kindle E-Reader devices focusing on operational excellence, monitoring the team's code deployment pipelines and dashboardsRoot cause issues and propose solutionsTrain new team-mates on how E-Reader and library software is constructed, how it operates, how secure it is, and how it fits into the bigger picture.About the teamKindle Content Organization System Architecture (Library) team's mission is to enable Kindle customers to manage their library with ease regardless of its size or contents, and to empower our partner teams to launch library features across different surfaces.
We own one of the two most important customer-facing components of the Kindle ecosystem.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degreeExperience in professional, non-internship software developmentExperience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering teamExperience leading the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systemsExperience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented designDevelopment experience writing application for the iOS or Android mobile platformA strong track record of project delivery for large, cross-functional projectsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in computer science or equivalentExperience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operationsKnowledge of computer science fundamentals in object-oriented designAbility to execute on a feature in agile model and polish the feature iterativelyExperienced driving ambiguous problem areas in existing or new software initiativesProven experience solving complex architecture and business problems with solutions that are extensible, simple, or optimalFamiliarity providing high-performing, developer-centric tools and frameworksExcellence in technical communication with peers and non-technical cohortsAmazon is an equal opportunities employer.
