JOB SUMMARY:
Working within the R&D community to set and follow a Global Technical strategy for each assigned Active Substance for all life cycles.
As the technical representative of the assigned Global Category Team, being specifically responsible for independently managing all technical aspects of the global development projects and technologies for bioInsecticides.
Responsible for developing and providing the needed tools and processes to manage and interpret R&D data globally within the category.
Coordinate all global field trial programs, to develop new product formulations and crop protection solution technologies in alignment with the category strategy.
As a member of the global category team, responsible for developing technical programs, working closely with regional development teams and field testing sites, as well as looking for new testing opportunities externally.
Collaborating with other internal and external development specialists, and other stakeholders to provide technical expertise and implement strategies.
This role requires close contact with UPL New AG Technology Group, as well as NPP (Natural Plant Protection), in order to provide grower solutions at a global level.
Provide technical support to the business for existing products.
The role will be mainly focused on bio-insecticides but could be extended with bio-herbicides and/or some bio-fungicides depending on the business needs.
JOB RESPONSIBILITES:
• Ensure global and regional project alignment with the overall technical strategy for their assigned Active Substances.
• Support business growth with technical expertise, finding solutions for the portfolio gaps indicated by both Global and Regional marketing with new solutions.
• Ensure that all field programs are planned in a systematic and timely manner so that trials are placed in the most effective and efficient locations possible.
• Provide technical support for individual products and active ingredients to global and regional technical, marketing and sales teams.
• Represent UPL and NPP at strategic technical conferences and meetings globally/regionally.
• When required, meet with customers to provide technical service and represent UPL with technical leadership and gather market level intelligence on needs and preferences of our major customers.
• Provide clear technical leadership for all assigned projects, active substances and products.
• Provide clear technical positioning of existing products and combined portfolio within the company.
This includes stewardship and best use guides to support resistance management and how to use safely and effectively.
• Ensure that the category team and NPP has clear technical direction within the organization for Global and Regional support.
Technology transfer at the time of the launch for globally managed products.
• Ensure that the Category Team has all necessary technical information to make sound business decisions.
Lead the Global Category Strategy and NPP from a technical perspective.
Attend Category Team Meetings to provide guidance on product performance and recommendations for improvement.
• Support the New AgTech Accelerator team, in evaluating potential new chemicals, biological substances, or other new technologies in line with the category strategy.
• Ensure that projects are planned accurately and in a timely manner within the new project management system and seek for training/improvement to make sure all best practices of project management are understood and applied complying with company directions.
Provide assistance outside category and team whenever possible and prudent.
• Strive to support the Global Technical Development Lead to ensure smooth functioning of the core Global PD team.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
• 10+ years of combined professional experience in Product Development, Field Research and Technical Project Management
• A master of science
