The Solutions Engineer will be responsible for creating tailored technical solutions to support the linguistic aspects of localizations delivery. This innovative role supports the technology-enablement of IQVIA Translations Services delivery processes, contributing to tactical and strategic objectives.
Responsibilities : Linguistic analysis and rule-based translation: In-depth linguistic analysis of source and target languages to identify patterns, grammatical structures, and translation rules. Create language-specific rules and linguistic resources that guide the translation process and improve the accuracy and fluency. Translation Memory creation and maintenance, working in association with Linguistic and Quality teams to implement best practices and embed technology-driven solutions. Evaluation and benchmarking MT engines to continuously assess post-editing distances, comparing results against industry standards to measure the quality and effectiveness of the translation output. Data pre-processing and cleaning: Preparation and curation of large volumes of language data for training and evaluation purposes. Creation of templates that help increase productivity and enhance quality, involving tasks such as data cleaning, normalization, tokenization, and alignment to ensure high-quality input for machine translation models. Design solutions/components and create proof-of-concepts to support linguistic aspects, with emphasis on workflow automation, quality and process efficiency. File engineering, to provide efficient solutions to operational data and file transformation needs. Engage directly with clients (internal and external) to analyze requirements/issues, provide solution suggestions, support the decision process and implement the agreed solution. Create technical documentation and user guides for machine translation systems and linguistic assets maintenance process. Facilitate communication and knowledge transfer between operational delivery teams and technical development teams. Coordinate with wider IQVIA teams throughout the SDLC to develop and rollout technology solutions utilizing established and state-of-the-art technologies. Ensure that the solutions meet information security and privacy requirements and standards. Follow established Design and Development standards including configuration management. Stay up to date with emerging technologies, identifying ways to build new or embed with existing solutions. Comply with relevant and applicable IQVIA procedures and SOPs, including Quality Management System. Requirements : Minimum 5 years' experience in language technologies, of which at least 3 years in Definition, Design and Development of localization solutions. Hands-on experience in developing applications and data management solutions, ideally in linguistic assets management and file engineering. Bachelor's degree, ideally in Information Technology or related field. Proficiency in relevant programming languages, databases, development tools and cross-system integration tools. Experience working with technical files, TMS and CAT tools (e.g. XLIFF, MemoQ). File Engineering expertise, across a variety of formats and structures. Excellent written/verbal communication skills. Fluency in English is essential, an additional language would be advantageous. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Attention to detail, with the ability to transform business requirements into design specifications. Ability to meet deadlines and to manage competing/shifting priorities. Ability to follow set objectives and work independently to achieve results using own initiative. This role is not eligible for UK visa sponsorship.
