Our strong operations and commercialization expertise result in high volume availability of competitive, efficient products that truly drive change.BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for a dynamic, results-driven individual to join as a Warehouse Team Leader at our new production plant in Viana, Portugal.Key Accountabilities:Coordinate the activities of the team members including the assignment of tasks and logistics objectives.Train new members on safety rules in the operation of equipment, cleaning of the workplace, and 5S, as well as incoming/outbound procedures.Facilitate continuous improvement within the team and provide support in implementing improvements, focusing on safety, quality, cost, delivery, and motivation.Actively participate in problem solving (8D, 6M, 5 Whys related to safety and quality issues).Conduct daily meetings with team members and facilitate communication between shifts with a focus on product performance indicators (OEE, Through-Puts, customer incidents/alerts, scrap, accidents/security incidents, on-time delivery, repack to order, incoming and outbound staging times).Support and implement production tools (Visual support, JIT, 5S, Kanban).Ensure adherence to control plans by conducting daily audits.Support Engineering and Production in the development and validation phase of the process of the new programs, specifically on the full cadence production day (run@rate) and in the production part approval process (PPAP - Production Part Approval Process).Responsible for Inbound and Outbound Warehouse activities, assuring needed flexibility and team management between areas.Define a rotating schedule for the teams to work between processes (Inbound and Outbound).Establish continuous improvement plans that lead to a more efficient organization.Ensure and respect the compliance with safety and cleanliness rules of the workplace.Continuously ensure the improvement of health, safety, and environmental conditions.Participate in the definition, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's policies.Comply with environmental, health and safety, quality, and productivity standards.Education & Experience:Secondary Education, preferably with technical-professional training, or a degree in engineering or a related field.Previous experience in a similar role (experience in automotive environment will be valued).Experience in managing a team of at least 30 people will be valued.Knowledge and experience on automated material handling equipment such as forklifts (valid certification for SAFE HANDLING OF FORKLIFT TRUCK TRAINING preferred).Knowledge of quality tools and automotive industry standards.Computer knowledge from the user's perspective.Knowledge of Lean tools (preferred).Leadership skills (participation in leadership training will be valued).Fluent in Portuguese and preferably fluent in English.BorgWarner is an equal employment opportunity employer such that all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, age, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, national origin, or disability.
