English Teacher - Part Time Teach English to students of all ages and levels in Madrid, Spain, with the British Council. We are looking for a qualified and experienced English teacher to join our team in Madrid. As an English teacher with the British Council, you will have the opportunity to work with students of all ages and levels, from young learners to adults. About the Role Plan and deliver high-quality English language teaching to students of all ages and levels Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and support Complete administrative tasks, such as recording student progress and maintaining accurate records Ensure student safety and well-being, adhering to British Council policies and procedures Requirements Undergraduate degree in any discipline Cambridge CELTA or Trinity Certificate TESOL Desirable: Recognised Diploma in English as a foreign language, e.G. DELTA or Trinity Diploma Desirable: Postgraduate Certificate in Education or Bachelor of Education in primary or a relevant secondary subject Experience Essential: 1 year post-certificate experience (CELTA or Trinity Certificate TESOL) Essential: Experience teaching relevant age groups specific to the center Desirable: Early Years aged 2 to 5 (400+ hours), Primary aged 6 to 10 (400+ hours), Lower Secondary aged 11 to 14 (800+ hours), Upper Secondary aged 15 to 17 (400+ hours) Salary and Benefits Salary: Euro 12,015.00 - 13,918.20 gross annually (depending on working hours and education) Offsite Travel Allowance Working Schedule Typical teaching slots: weekday lunchtime, afternoon and evening classes, and Saturday morning and afternoon classes Days off: Sunday plus another day of the week off, e.G. Friday Increasingly our young learner teaching takes place in schools, so travel is often required Corporate classes usually take place off our premises Teachers may be expected to work in more than one British Council center They are also likely to work in more than one location, e.G.
