Tax Process Expert (CoE)
Purpose
Within our one Tax Community and our Operating Model for Taxes at Bayer, the Global Business Services (GBS) team plays a key role performing international and local tax activities regarding Tax Compliance (including Indirect & Direct taxes), Tax Accounting and Transfer Pricing, and provides tax advice within the GBS community and contributes to continuous process improvements.
As part of the organization within the GBS community, we have a Tax Center of Excellence (CoE) team all around the different locations that encompasses different process areas as Tax Compliance, Tax Reporting, Transfer Pricing, Tax Technology and Digital Transformation.
The main activities and responsibilities of this team are giving tax advise within the GBS team and be key contact to headquarters and local teams; caretaking for outsourcing; managing complex tax activities within the region under scope and/or with global impact, including tax audit support; continuous process improvements (cross-functional alignments, automation & data analytics); support to Global Process Owner (GPO)'s projects; knowledge management; give advice on tax reporting activities, etc.
The team acts as the counterpart of the respective GPOs, both putting the global standards/settings into operations and providing the feedback, ideas, and operational knowledge from the operations.
For our Global CoE Tax team, we are looking for a CoE Tax Process Expert who is and acts as a senior expert within the tax processes, supporting and providing functional guidance to the tax teams, in order to contribute at and skill them.
Your Tasks And Responsibilities
We are looking for a proactive and innovative individual to join our team as a Process Improvement Expert. As the successful candidate, you will have the opportunity to:
Identify and champion process improvement needs, collaborating closely with Global Process Owner (GPO) organization to drive impactful changes.
Lead and facilitate continuous process improvements, leveraging cross-functional alignments, automation, and cutting-edge data analytics. You will also be responsible for developing and delivering comprehensive training programs to support the implementation of these improvements.
Provide expert support to our tax teams, offering guidance and solutions for technical and process-related inquiries.
Take a leading role in cross-department assignments within our Global Business Services (GBS), contributing your expertise to various process-related initiatives.
Coordinate and distribute tax requirements across different process areas, ensuring seamless integration and collaboration.
Provide critical support to GPO projects, including transitions and other key initiatives.
Monitor and analyze key process metrics to measure performance, Service Level Agreement (SLA) compliance, and benchmark targets across GBS locations, utilizing state-of-the-art data analytics technologies.
Utilize data analytics tools to analyze financial data, ensuring high-quality data and tax compliance.
Lead the way in guiding, documenting, and training our team in process, activity split, IT enabler, workflow, and control standards across GBS locations, ensuring consistent and effective operations.
Manage tax tools and demands, playing a pivotal role in optimizing our tax processes.

Who You Are
B/BS/MBA in Accounting and/or Tax ideally combined with IT knowledge (or similar).
4+ years of work experience preferably in tax covering tax compliance / tax accounting, foundational level of process and system knowledge in increasing automated digital world and complex system landscape.
Experience in leading technical projects (processes, organization, and people).
Advanced level of technical accounting and financial reporting in a corporate environment.
Ability to become a tax reporting expert for GBS
Advanced ability to work through ambiguity.
Advanced level of capability to understand complexity of changes with respect to business and regulatory environment and to respond quickly.
Advanced level of capabilities to lead change, projects, and initiatives.
Advanced level of capability to collaborate.
Advanced level of capability to translate digital technologies into processes.
Advanced level of capability to collaborate task/project oriented without geographical, organizational, or functional boarders.
Strong tax judgement and business knowledge or ability to quickly learn.
SAP experience is a plus.
Very good analytical skills and the proactive attitude to drive process changes.
Customer oriented mind-set, change management capabilities and Team player.
Competence to grasp an overview of complex subjects and deduce operational activities.
Exceptional interpersonal communication, and presentation skills and ability to manage multiple and diverse stakeholders.
English language should be fluent in spoken and writing (second language is an advantage).
