The Tax Manager Role You will be responsible for the timely filing of the Group's direct, indirect, transfer pricing and property tax filings, tax calculations, tax reconciliations, and tax reporting for the countries under your responsibility.
This role pro-actively pursues and drives opportunities to improve cost-efficient compliance by managing or supporting the standardization and automation of the tax processes.
This individual has a strong knowledge of direct and indirect tax compliance requirements, is knowledgeable about income tax provisioning, and ideally has a good understanding of the metrics used to measure tax compliance and the cost-efficiency of tax compliance.
What makes this role interesting?
Manage tax compliance for the EMEA and APAC entities under your responsibility, including direct, indirect, transfer pricing and other taxes.
Prepare/review local income tax calculations according to local tax legislation, as well as verify the correct tax accounting records and returns.
Document any internal controls processes, including monitoring, assessing, measuring, and documenting tax positions.
Prepare and/or review the quarterly tax provision, indirect tax reconciliation and intercompany calculations, and coordinate with Finance.
Review tax clauses of legal agreements to be signed with customers, and other legal-related documents, as well as intercompany agreements, to ensure that tax requirements are met.
Identify and implement opportunities to improve the cost-efficiency of tax operations.
Manage and/or support tax colleagues in standardizing tax processes.
Identify and manage the automation of tax operations processes.
Coordinate the preparation of transfer pricing documentation with external advisors.
Collaborate with other functional areas as a subject matter expert on tax.
Work closely with, and manage, tax advisers.
Monitor tax developments and analyze the potential impacts on the Company.
Other special compliance/provision related projects.
Here's how you'll be making an impact: Strong understanding of tax operations and tax risk environment, and the ability to effectively communicate tax alternatives and risks.
Good understanding of US GAAP and of internal procedures and controls.
The ability to operate independently, make decisions and thrive on execution; and to work cooperatively across global, cross-functional stakeholders.
Effective organization and time management skills, with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to strict filing deadlines.
We're looking for a teammate with: 6+ years' experience in managing tax operations, preferably in several EMEA and APAC jurisdictions.
Minimum of 3 years' experience managing direct and indirect taxes.
Bachelor's degree in accounting is required; having or actively pursuing your CPA would be a plus.
Proficient with Avalara, MS Office, MS Excel and NetSuite environment.
Fluent in written and spoken English; fluency in French would be a big plus.
Experience partnering with finance and accounting to deliver insightful information.
Experience at a global company with significant international operations preferred.
Experience with SaaS or Software company preferred.
