Our client is looking for a Tax Compliance Manager who will be at the forefront of helping to manage both existing tax obligations as well as emerging obligations in the fast-developing and leading-edge world of the taxation of digital services throughout the region. You'll be working closely with people from across the business and around the world - from accountants to lawyers to retail specialists, product specialists, and technology experts in the UK, Gibraltar, Malta, India, and elsewhere - to understand and advise on the indirect tax implications of operations and future plans. You'll need to stay abreast of international developments in VAT, GST, and gambling taxes, including the evolving areas of taxation of digital businesses, taxation of electronically supplied services, and point-of-consumption taxes as well as on international taxes in LATAM countries.Responsibilities:Manage all local country tax matters in Mexico, including corporate income tax and indirect tax matters (e.g., VAT, gambling taxes, e-invoicing, etc.) and other taxes (e.g., withholding taxes, etc.) for our Mexican business operations;Work with the operations team, legal, country controllers, and other stakeholders;Partner with our tech teams to come up with automated solutions to the compliance process and lead implementation if needed;Coordinate and manage the use of outside advisors (if needed) to support tax positions;Month-end financial reporting activities - including variance analyses, prepare/review specific tax account reconciliations;Lead income tax accounting and reporting under IFRS and local GAAP for Mexico, including local quarterly and annual tax provision calculations, including deferred income tax calculations and RTPs;Review annual income tax returns, monthly returns, and supporting work papers;Be current with changes in tax laws that could impact the Company's operations;Management of tax audits & tax controversy in the region, as required;Coordinate with local country tax service providers for filing of direct and indirect tax returns in Mexico;Ensure that the Company is compliant with all local country tax requirements in Mexico, and oversee local country tax compliance;Communicate and coordinate with other business groups regarding tax impacts of new business launches and strategies in Mexico;Examine, analyze, and interpret financial and tax records, including in Spanish or English, and international tax policy developments in the area of direct and indirect taxation in Mexico;Assist with Oracle conversions, as needed;Indirect Tax for Mexico: VAT Returns (Review and possible approval), give indirect tax guidance to LATAM finance teams as needed, VAT Registration setup, as needed, contract reviews support for indirect and direct taxes;Identify and implement opportunities to streamline tax return processes to improve the efficiency of the tax function and to comply with new data handling, retention, and filing obligations (such as digitization and automation requirements of tax authorities in Mexico);Act as a business partner: assisting accounting, procurement, legal, commercial, and other colleagues in understanding the VAT, GST, and gambling tax considerations for their work;Support members of the tax team with special projects which require tax expertise, such as M&A activity, corporate restructuring, tax litigation, tax analysis of new products, and addressing the tax consequences of entry into new markets to ensure compliance and optimum outcomes.Requirements:Essential:VAT technical knowledge, including Mexican indirect taxes (VAT, gambling taxes);VAT on cross-border transactions;Familiarity working directly with ERP systems (preferably Oracle Cloud/Fusion);Confident designing, reviewing, and working with Excel-based tax returns;Ability to build and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders (particularly internal stakeholders such as finance, legal, and commercial colleagues) and be seen as a trusted expert;Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Tax, Finance, or a related field + 4 years of combined tax experience in public accounting or a large multinational company with a corporate tax department or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education;Experience with tax rules in Mexico;Proficiency in English and Spanish (both spoken and written).Desired:Proficiency in Portuguese;Part-qualified / working towards completion of a recognized professional tax or accountancy qualification;Knowledge and experience of the taxation of digital services;Experience of the gambling sector, or previous work involving gambling taxes/duties.El anuncio original lo puedes encontrar en Kit Empleo: https://www.kitempleo.es/empleo/115871920/tax-compliance-manager-mexico-barcelona-udd801-barcelona/?utm_source=html
