Position: The Tax Analyst is an integral role with high visibility across Northland Power's business, working closely with accounting, corporate finance, development, and external advisors. In this role, you are a key contributor to the preparation, review, and reporting of internal and external tax information. You will provide tax oversight to Northland's portfolio of companies in Spain. The Senior Tax Analyst - Spain will work closely with the local finance team to oversee all ongoing projects in Spain.
Key Responsibilities: Review and assist tax advisors in Spain with the preparation of quarterly and annual tax provisions, public reporting, and Consolidated CIT Group Tax.Coordinate with regional tax service providers and local staff to monitor compliance, cash tax payments, VAT, withholding taxes, CIT, local taxes, stamp duties, and facilitate timely filings.Assist with dealings with local tax authorities including tax authorities' enquiries, tax audits, and interactions.Assist with local accounting and treasury functions on any tax-related matters as needed.Support development initiatives in Spain as required.Work with external tax advisors and legal departments to maintain tax structures in Spain.Provide supporting documentation and respond to auditors as required.Prepare the tax notes in the Annual Accounts.Oversee local transfer pricing analysis and documentation.Oversee merger and acquisition activities in Spain from a tax perspective if required, including managing due diligence and advisors.In partnership with local teams and the Corporate Finance Department, ensure Spanish taxes are accurately modeled, budgeted, and forecasted.Work with members of the Tax Department and other Northland departments to improve workflow, technologies, efficiencies, controls, documentation, and processes.Who You Are: Independent: You are an independent thinker and naturally set your own timescales and milestones to ensure you meet your objectives.
