Our Martos plant is one of the biggest sites within our Visibility Systems Business Group, responsible for developing and manufacturing Lighting Products and Electronics. As a T&V and Functional Validation Department Manager at Valeo Martos, you will design cutting-edge electronics for top car makers in the world, working in a fast-paced, international, and multicultural environment.
Your mission will be:
Manage your group of engineers/technicians in a given Engineering discipline, ensuring the right level of capabilities, competencies, and expertise.
Deploy and implement the "state of the art" standards, processes, methods & tools in your department.
Participate in the improvement of the standards, processes, methods & tools in your Engineering discipline in relation to your Engineering discipline network, especially the Engineering discipline manager/director.
Check/audit the implementation of the standards (RAISE).
Your responsibilities will include:
Management & Competency
Manage your organization and team of engineers and technicians (yearly reviews, meetings, missions, objectives).
Define necessary qualifications for your team according to benchmarks and technical evolutions.
Ensure competency levels are sufficient to handle new/future projects and technologies (in line with TDP). Identify gaps, define, and implement the proper action plan.
Allocate staff to various projects and support Project team in priorities management.
Propose training and career evolutions.
Responsible for recruitment within your department.
Participate in the Valeo Expertise process by preparing and proposing candidates.
Budget
Responsible for your department budget; build, propose, and follow your budget.
Participate in project budget construction.
Propose yearly investment plans.
Responsible for department efficiency using the Efficiency Plan built with the Engineering discipline Manager/Director.
Process, Methodology, Tools, Equipment
Ensure equivalence between results of different equipment.
Participate in defining and implementing processes, methods, and tools necessary to handle new/future projects and technologies (in line with TDP).
Deploy the Engineering process, methodology, and tools defined with the Engineering discipline Manager/Director.
Ensure full deployment of 5 axes methodology.
Support the Certification process (CMMi, etc.) if applicable.
Networking
Participate in and support the network of your Engineering discipline.
Participate in the improvement of the standards, methods & tools of your Engineering discipline.
Standardization & Robust Design
Support RAISE team by ensuring knowledge, training, and implementation of standards.
Participate in the elaboration of standards with RAISE and actively participate in Design reviews.
Review and challenge Destandardization requests before release.
Ensure that each design achieves the highest level of Robust design.
Resources / Footprint
Centralize information on all existing resources.
Identify, create synergies, and ensure optimum use of all resources.
Identify needs in terms of dedicated and shared resources. Organize availability of shared resources corresponding to R&D Manager.
Continuously work with Engineering discipline Manager/Director to improve footprint and performance.
Desired skills and experience:
Engineering Degree.
10-15 years of experience in the related Engineering discipline in automotive engineering or relevant industries.
Passion for the automotive industry.
Negotiation English level is mandatory.
Experience in budget and people management.
