Our Martos plant is one of the biggest sites within our Visibility Systems Business Group in charge of developing and manufacturing Lighting Products and Electronics. From the latest adaptive lighting technologies to intuitive interior lighting solutions or stylish and design-centric external lighting, Valeo constantly innovates to improve comfort and safety for drivers and passengers alike.
As a T&V and Functional Validation Department Manager in Valeo Martos, you will be designing cutting-edge electronics for top car makers in the world, working in a fast-paced, international, and multicultural environment.
Your mission will be:
Hierarchically manage your group of engineers/technicians in a given Engineering discipline, ensuring the right level of capabilities, competencies, and expertise.
Responsible for deploying and implementing the "state of the art" standards, processes, methods & tools in your department.
Participate in the improvement of the standards, processes, methods & tools in your Engineering discipline in relation to your Engineering discipline network, especially the Engineering discipline manager/director.
Check/audit the implementation of the standards (RAISE).
Your responsibilities will be:
Management & Competency
Manage your organization.
Manage your team of engineers and technicians (yearly reviews, meetings, missions, objectives).
Define the necessary qualifications for your team according to the benchmark and to the technical and technological evolutions.
Ensure that competency level is at the level requested to properly handle new/future projects and new/future technologies (in line with TDP). Identify gaps, define, and implement the proper action plan.
Allocate your staff in the various projects and support Project teams in priorities management.
Propose training and career evolutions.
Responsible for recruitment of the members of your department.
Participate in the Valeo Expertise process by preparing and proposing candidates.
Budget
Responsible for your department budget; build, propose, and follow your budget.
Participate in project budget construction.
Propose yearly investment plan.
Responsible for the Department efficiency using the Efficiency Plan built together with the Engineering discipline Manager/Director.
Process, Methodology, Tools, Equipment
Ensure equivalence between results of the different equipment.
Participate in the definition of, and implement the process, methods, and tools necessary to properly handle new/future projects and new/future technologies (in line with TDP).
Deploy the Engineering process, methodology, and tools defined by/together with the Engineering discipline Manager/Director.
Ensure the full deployment of 5 axes methodology.
Support the Certification process (CMMi, …) if applicable.
Networking
Participate in and support the network of your Engineering discipline.
Participate in the improvement of the standards, methods & tools of your Engineering discipline.
Standardization & Robust Design
Support RAISE team by ensuring knowledge, training, and implementation of the standards.
Participate in the elaboration of standards with RAISE and actively participate in Design reviews.
Review and challenge Destandardization requests before release.
Ensure that each design achieves the highest level of Robust design.
Resources / Footprint
Centralize information on all existing resources.
Identify, create synergies, and ensure optimum use of all resources.
Identify the needs in terms of dedicated and shared resources. Organize the availability of shared resources corresponding to R&D Manager.
Continuously work with Engineering discipline Manager/Director to improve your footprint and performances.
Desired skills and experience:
Engineering Degree.
10/15 years of experience in the related Engineering discipline in automotive engineering or relevant industries.
Passion for the automotive industry.
Negotiation English level is mandatory.
Experience in budget and people management.
