At Amazon, we're working to be the most customer-centric company on earth. To get there, Amazon is seeking a Systems Development Engineer for our growing Reliability and Maintenance Engineering (RME) team to play a critical role in managing Amazon's fast growth and technology innovation.
We are looking for a Systems Development Engineer to join our Global RME Central Team, focusing on maximizing equipment reliability and operational performance of equipment. This role is an opportunity to join our team at this time and make a real impact prototyping data-driven solutions for the Global Reliability and Automation Engineering org and partner teams to test a concept or deliver a new application that may help reduce RME cost of maintenance and extend product life cycle.
In this role you will:
Design, deploy, monitor, and automate infrastructure, tools and systems to provide a highly-available and resilient platform for our customers' and our team's workloads.Coordinate with internal teams to uncover infrastructure improvement areas and remove them through automation.Contribute toward the forward looking vision for the team.Help improve operational excellence by reducing technical debt for the team.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems)Experience (non-internship) in professional software developmentExperience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systemsExperience in networking, storage systems, operating systems and hands-on systems engineeringExperience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience with PowerShell (preferred), Python, Ruby, or JavaExperience working in an Agile environment using the Scrum methodology
