Business Context Unilever's Business Operations (UBO) organisation is a global operation consisting of key areas including supply chain management, procurement, and customer operations.
The supply chain controls most of Unilever's inventory, manages a majority of costs and physical assets, and sets the foundation to generate revenue through product availability.Unilever's supply chain is an industry leader in responsible and sustainable sourcing (SUSO), focusing on sustainable-sourcing and tracing of commodities like palm, soy, cocoa, and dairy.
The Customer Operations teams manage the global distribution of products, including direct-to-customer e-commerce.This position is within the global UBO Legal Team, based in Barcelona, reporting to the GC Home Care Products in Singapore, with skip-line reporting to the GC UBO in London and Singapore.
This role involves managing and supervising external and internal legal supports, with a focus on complex matters handled directly by you.Responsibilities: The successful candidate will: Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of medium and complex contracts.
Delegate and supervise the work of multiple legal process outsourcing and insourcing resources.
Provide clear, business-oriented support for the scopes of work.
Identify legal risks and communicate them effectively to the business.
Create clear risk analysis and guidance for non-legal audiences.
Enhance procurement and supply chain practices through good governance and training initiatives.
Facilitate collaboration between legal teams and support UBO activities and projects.
Provide first point of contact advice for logistics, procurement quality, and service claims.
Key Interfaces: Within Legal: GC Home Care Products, GC UBO, SEAA-based Business Operations, and various internal legal specialists.Within the Business: Direct client interfaces will include soft oils procurement, global sustainability initiatives, fragrances procurement, and carbon reduction initiatives.Critical Success Factors: - Academic degree in Law, current bar qualification, and at least 12+ years of experience in legal advisory and drafting.- Passion for ESG matters and experience in advising on the same.- Strong English language drafting and legal advisory skills.- Ability to handle multiple assignments and manage major projects.- Willingness to work flexible hours to accommodate global communication.To apply, please submit your application online.
