The Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ) is seeking a Support Technician to join the Romero research Group. This position will be funded by MCIN/AEI/10.13039/501100011033 and the European Union "NextGeneration EU/PRTR" within the project TED2021-132747A-I00 (acronym: SolarBioCharges).

ICIQ is looking for a Support Technician to work in the group of Dr. Elisabet Romero.
Responsibilities: Maintain in good condition and optimize when needed the spectroscopic equipment present in the LaserLab.Propose upgrades to the current setups to improve their performance (to obtain higher signal quality and reduce acquisition times).Supervise the materials utilized in the lab and place the orders to keep the stock.Communicate with the Mechanical Workshop to design and build pieces needed to perform the day-to-day work in the lab, or to adapt the present equipment to new needs.Communicate with the institute Maintenance team whenever needed, especially in relation with the climatization system of the LaserLab.Requirements: Degree in Chemistry or Physics.Expertise in ultrafast spectroscopic techniques, among them: transient absorption and fluorescence (Streak camera), two-dimensional electronic spectroscopy.Proficient technical skills in ultrafast optics. Ability to build: non-colinear optical parametric amplifiers (NOPAs), pulse duration compressors, pulse diagnostics setups (SFG-FROG), etc.Programming skills in Matlab, Python, and LabView.Good organization skills.Capacity to work in a team.Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.Valued qualities: Positive attitude, open-mind, and dynamism.Motivation and enthusiasm.We offer: A full-time employment contract linked to the TED2021-132747A-I00 project ending on 30/09/2025.Remuneration according to the Institute salary scales.Annual salary split into twelve monthly payments.Incorporation: February 2025.RESERVATION OF PLACES FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES EQUAL TO OR GREATER THAN 33% This place is reserved for candidates who meet the requirements and have the legal status of people with disabilities with a degree of disability equal to or greater than 33%.
